I have a slight obsession with matte eye shadows and by slight, I mean gigantic. But really, who doesn’t? I doubt you could look me in the eye and tell me this palette isn’t the most beautiful thing you have ever seen.
This palette is part of Stila’s new ‘Eyes are the Window’ collection for their 20th anniversary. The collection consists of four different eyeshadow palettes, 6 lip glosses and a mascara. Although I’m not a fan of Stila lip glosses or mascara, the palettes immediately caught my attention. Their traditional cardboard packaging was replaced with sleek navy boxes and the actual palettes are encased in beautiful mixed metal designs. The palettes are almost beautiful enough to support the $60 price tag. Yes, you read that right. $60? That’s more than an Urban Decay Naked Palette and you don’t even get bonus eyeliners, brushes, or mascara with these. Just the 12 eyeshadows.
I debated buying this palette for quite a while, but I recently redeemed my points at Shoppers Drug Mart and decided since I wasn’t actually spending any money, I could allow myself to buy it. After a month of testing it, I haven’t regretted it yet. This palette is truly beautiful. It has 12 all-matte shadows, ranging from light creamy colors to deeper jewel-toned shades. The shade selection is wonderful. Apart from my Pur Minerals Soul Mattes palette (buy here), these are the only eye shadows I have been reaching for lately.
