I am an Apple-aholic. I am constantly either on my phone or iPad so new and cool apps are my favorite things. I recently got the chance to try out a new app called BAND. BAND is a social messaging app that allows it’s users to participate in so much more than just messaging. While exploring BAND, I was excited to see all of the different features.

You can use BAND to come together with a few friends or 1,000 to make aBand for any of your communities, small or large!Use BANDfor your blog, family, your school newspaper, your running club, your sorority and many others groups to share, communicate, and organize activities.

BAND moves beyond chat and messaging functionality to keep your group in the loop with a ton of free tools. It allows for traditional posting and chat, as well as group polling, community calendars, file sharing and photo albums.

I created a Band with my friends at school. We are constantly using imessage group chats to discuss study dates but some of our friends don’t have iPhones. This app solved all those problems, plus added some really cool benefits. We can easily talk in group chats, share photos, and discuss our availability with the built in calendar.
