You would think powders are pretty simple. I used to think all powders were the same. I wasn’t picky with which one I used. I grew up using theBare Minerals loose powder as a foundation and then I started using a liquid foundation under that once I started wanting more coverage. I stuck with this routine for probably 3 years. However, once I started working at Shoppers Drug Mart, all of my makeup started to change as I experimented more and more. One of the powders I really started to like was the Pur Minerals 4-in-1 Mineral Makeup. It was similar in appearance to the Bare Minerals one with the exception being the format. Like the Bare Minerals, this one is a powder foundation, meaning it does give a fair amount of coverage. But I haven’t changed in the sense that I still prefer a more full coverage foundation look so I use this more as a setting powder all over my entire face.
There are a couple reasons as to why I’m such a big fan of this product. Number 1- It’s actually light enough for my skin tone. I have come to the realization that I am one of the palest people on this earth and this powder really does match my face nicely. I don’t have to worry about blending it down my neck and making sure everything matches. Number 2- It’s a mineral powder. I always feel happier using mineral products. I’d like to think they don’t block my pores as much and therefore, won’t make me breakout. Let’s hope that’s actually true. Number 3- Although this powder does have quite a bit of coverage to it, it does a very good job at remaining lightweight. It doesn’t look heavy on the skin or give that cakey look. It blends very nicely into the skin. Number 4- Last but not least, this powder is neither glowy or matte. Because I have such weird combination skin, it’s sometimes hard to find a powder that works for it. But this powder keeps my oily t-zone matte while not totally masking my natural glow in my skin through my cheek area. I hate wearing a mattifying powder that makes me look dead.
So there we go folks. (I really have to stop ending blog posts this way. I need to be more original.) But, anyways, this powder is great and definitely should be a staple in anyone’s makeup routine. This powder works especially great on it’s own too (without another foundation underneath) for somebody who wants to achieve that‘no makeup look’. A+, Pur Minerals, you really deserve an A+.
