Self Tanner Comparison

Now that summer has officially and sadly come to an end, I thought I would reflect on some self tanners that I have tried this season. Self tanners have always been an essential product for me. I’ve suffered with being pale my entire life. Just kidding, I really don’t mind being pale, it’s not that bad. But regardless, I’ve always loved to add a bit of colour back into my skin during the summer, so I thought I would share some of my favorite self tanners with you and which ones are better than others. Because if anyone is an expert at not being pale, that’s me. I’m kidding again. I’m still pale 24/7, all year round. These products just help me to not be mistaken as a ghost.

Clarins Delectable Self Tanning Mousse– This mousse has such mixed reviews by so many people. Some people hate it, some people love it. I’m one of the ones who love it, but there are also people like my bestie, Emily, who had a bad experience with it. Because it’s a colourless mousse texture at first, it’s hard to see where it’s absorbed into the skin and where it isn’t. So if you are using this product, make sure to thoroughly and evenly rub it in!

St. Tropez Bronzing Mousse (buy here)- This is my holy grail of self tanners. This is the last one that I tried out of the four because I was always scared off by the price tag. But I should have just listened to everyone and bought it sooner than later because it really is the best. Check out my whole review on it here.

Clarins Delicious Self Tanning Cream (buy here)- This cream is probably my least favorite out of the four. It’s not bad necessarily, but it’s just a bit more difficult to use. Although it does have colour to it so you can see exactly where you applied it, I find that it’s harder to get a streak-free application with it. But if you do manage to apply it nicely, it does leave a beautiful, non-orange colour.

Jergens Natural Glow Self Tanning Body Lotion (buy here)- This was the very first self tanner I ever tried! I bought it to prepare for my grade 12 grad so I wouldn’t look like a ghost walking across stage and it worked relatively well for a first-time tanner! It is a gradual tan so it was nice not to worry that I would apply it and wake up the next morning looking like a streaky orange. It left a very nice natural glow to my skin.
