I’ve never really gotten the chance to show you what I wear in the winter. I always show my cute lighter jackets on my blog, but to be totally honest, I’m usually wearing my parka for half of the winter because Edmonton winters are not the warmest. They are definitely freezing cold and my parka is the only thing that keeps me truly warm.

This parka is one of my favorite things. I bought it my first year of university once I realized I definitely needed a warmer coat to trek through the snow to get to my classes. All of my winter jackets in the past had been short, so I really appreciate the length on this one. It keeps my bum warm and that’s a very important thing.

The rest of my winter accessories consists of this toque from Topshop. For all you non-Canadians, a toque is a beanie. Duh. I am so obsessed with this hat. Not only does it keep me warm, but I think it compliments my winter outfit perfectly. Another thing that is a lifesaver in the winter season is my fur snood. I bought this from Aritzia last year and I feel like I haven’t worn it enough since then. It’s so oversized and furry and perfect for keeping me warm. My boots are my favorite part about this outfit. Usually in the winter I stick to wearing my Uggs. But I’ve never found that Uggs keep my feet warm enough, plus they’re not the cutest footwear. So, I went ahead and splurged on a cuter pair of winter boots- my Sorel Tivoli’s. I used to think Sorels were the ugliest things but they have grown on me so much. When I was in Canmore, I kept seeing people wearing them and they just looked so darn cute on them. I now think that they are the essential winter boot and they keep my feet so warm, it’s unbelievable. My feet literally sweat in these boots, which has definitely never happened before in the winter.

You might be questioning the background to my photos today. When deciding where to photograph my outfit of the day, we thought Taylor College would be the perfect place. Because my name is Taylor. And the sign says Taylor. It’s funny, okay?
