This post is very long overdue. This was actually the outfit I wore on Christmas Day, which seems like a million years ago. I should have also posted it a million years ago, but alas, school got in the way. Actually that’s a lie, my semester only started 3 days ago. I have nobody to blame but myself. I was so busy enjoying my winter break. Between working almost every day and hanging out with friends and doing some much needed cleaning and decluttering of my room, the blog unfortunately took the backseat for the holidays. But now I’m back and in full force!
I’m pretty sure I wear a variation of this outfit every year for the holidays. (2015, 2014, 2013). But there’s nothing that screams Christmas more than red and velvet. Today I paired this red velvet dress underneath a big, long sweater fro Vero Moda. I absolutely love the look of pairing sweaters over dresses. It’s like a whole new outfit because it looks like a skirt and top but psych! I totally fooled you. I didn’t realize I was wearing so much black until I looked at these photos afterwards. With my black wool coat, black tights, and black suede boots, it was blackness overload. I probably should have switched it up with a grey coat but oh well.
I did however switch it up with my new grey purse! I have been looking for a new purse for ages now. I needed the perfect one. And that consisted of one being structured, silver hardware, neutral coloured and the perfect size- not too big and not too small. Sounds like an easy list, right? Wrong. For some reason, I just couldn’t find a purse that fit all of these qualifications. Originally I wanted a Marc Jacobs purse because Marc is bae, however his purses were greatly lacking this season. It pains me to say that, but it’s true. I then switched my focus to Kate Spade, thinking she must have my dream bag, but once again, there was nothing that caught my eye. I was beginning to feel rather discouraged at this point. After all, how hard can it be to find a purse? Apparently really darn hard. But then, just as I was giving up hope, I came across this purse at Michael Kors. This is the Selma Handbag in the Medium Size in the grey colourblock Saffiano Leather. It is everything I could ever want. I love the two-toned grey leather with the black handles and the silver hardware. It’s the most beautiful purse I have ever seen and the perfect business, grown-up bag.
