Dior Glowing Garden Illuminating Powder Review

I have such an exciting item to share with you today! I seriously couldn’t wait to take these photos and write this post! But, as always, I need to give you a bit of background first. When highlighting became the big craze, I tried so hard to get acquainted with the trend. There was just one problem. Every highlighter I found was too dark for me. Obviously a highlighter should be quite a bit lighter than your skin tone or else it totally defeats the purpose. However, because I am literally a ghost with extremely pale skin, I could never find a highlighter that worked with my skin tone. Plus at Shoppers where I work, which is really the only place I buy makeup, we had an abundance of cream and stick highlighters but never any powder ones.

But, my whole life turned around when Dior launched their Spring 2016 Collection. The whole collection is absolutely stunning but this highlighter definitely caught my eye first! This is the Dior Skin Nude Air Glowing Garden Illuminating Powder in 001 Glowing Pink. Wow, that name sure is a mouthful. First of all, let’s admire the packaging. Dior always outdoes themselves. The highlighter is housed in their classic silver compact with a navy pouch and a gorgeous kabuki brush. With this beautiful of packaging, I can almost justify spending $64 for this. Just kidding, I definitely can’t. Thank goodness for an employee discount and Shoppers Optimum Points.

The embossing on this powder fits perfectly with the Spring theme! The flowers are absolutely gorgeous and I’m almost too scared to use this highlighter in fear of messing it all up. The actual highlighter is absolutely gorgeous. It’s a sparkly pink that fits so nicely with my skin tone! I love that this highlighter has such a pink tint to it! So many highlighters these days are on the warmer gold tones so this one is such a nice change! But, for those of you who do prefer a more gold highlighter, the Dior Spring Collection also includes a more warm toned highlighter! Also, the highlighter isn’t too pigmented, which I prefer, unlike the Becca highlighters that are so intense. It gives a more natural glow instead! I am so excited about this highlighter! Finally, I have completed my search for the perfect highlighting powder!
