Let’s set the scene. I’m walking down a Walmart makeup aisle late at night. I pause to look at the Hard Candy section. I spot these cute little tins. I’m intrigued. They contain a matte looking liquid lipstick. I haven’t seen these before. I pull out my phone. I start to google if there are any reviews of these yet. My searches come up empty. That’s when I know what my next blog post will be.

No, but seriously, I am so excited about these Hard Candy Velvet Mousse Matte Lip Colours. With the trends being all about matte lips lately, I have been loving the selection of lip products that all the brands have been coming out with lately and this one is no exception. I picked up mine in the shade Cherry Blossom because my Walmart was severely lacking in shade selection. Almost all of the colours were sold out except for this one, a light coral, and a bright purple, so naturally, I chose this one. It is a deep red-toned pink. It’s so pretty!
But, the thing I love most about this product is definitely the formula. They remind me a lot of the Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipsticks, but with a couple of differences. The lip colour goes on very smoothly with the help of the narrow wand. It’s so pigmented and it doesn’t get patchy at all! Once it starts to dry, it becomes very matte, however it doesn’t dry completely. In that way, it’s kind of a cross between the Stila Liquid Lipsticks and the Revlon Matte Ultra HD Lip Colours. But because it doesn’t dry fully, I find that this Hard Candy lippie isn’t totally drying on the lips! Plus, it does set enough on your lips so that if you do take a drink of water or kiss a boy, they won’t rub completely off. They might leave some residue on your water glass, but there will still be colour left on your lips so you don’t have to constantly keep applying.
All in all, I am such a huge fan of these Hard Candy Velvet Mousse Matte Lip Colours and I think I will have to run over to some other Walmarts to track down some more colours!
