Choking Hazard

Chokers haveseriouslytaken over the fashion world lately and I have very mixedthoughts on them. On one hand, they’re super cute and trendy but on the other hand they do look kind of silly. They’re a hard look to pull off without looking like you’re either stuck in the 70′s or you’re a punk (because y’know I’m so edgy). Neither is something that would regularly define me.

However, I recently picked up this top from Boohoo that almost has a choker-like neckline which I love! It’s different yet it’s still a classic blouse! I love the wrap style of the shirt and I think this is the perfect top to dress up or down. Lately, I have been really into more business-like clothes. Although this shirt wouldn’t really be classified as“business”, it’s definitely a little bit more age appropriate for a 21 year old, rather than just jeans and a t-shirt. I just want to look a little bit more put together I guess!

Today I definitely dress this top down a bit by pairing it with my dark wash Miss Sixty jeans. To be honest, I wasn’t entirely sure which colour of pants would look best with this top. If you have any ideas, leave your suggestions down below in the comments! To stop the look from being totally casual, I added my favorite Topshop ghillie flats. These things are still as uncomfortable as ever but they are just so cute! To tie in the black, I also wore my Kate Spade crossbody purse. I kept my jewelry pretty minimal but I wore these new earrings I recently got from Zara on clearance! Are they not the prettiest things?! I love how colourful they are. I have a feeling I am going to be wearing these constantly all year round.
