I should probably win an award for worst blogger ever. This blog post has been sitting in my drafts for almost a year now and I am finally getting around to posting it. I’m sorry if you guys were really looking forward to reading this post. Distance makes the heart grow fonder. Mmmm, that saying is totally not applicable here. Let’s just get on with the review.
I have been a fan of Essence nail polishes for the longest time now. I think they were one of my first brand of nail polishes in fact! Fun fact: my mom didn’t start letting me buy nail polish until I was in grade 7 because she thought I couldn’t be trusted with it and that I would spill it on my carpet. Another fun fact: I once spilled a dark navy nail polish on my white carpet and it was the most horrifying thing ever. But long story short, I really do love Essence nail polishes and they always have the prettiest colour selection so I was super excited to try their new The Nudes collection!
I received three polishes: #02 I Nude It, #10 Nude Sweet Nude, and #05 Pure Soul. All three are absolutely gorgeous shades that I could see myself wearing day after day. I Nude It is a creamy white that is surprisingly opaque! It has a light gold microshimmer that is hardly visible but adds a bit of dimension to the polish when dried. Usually, pale pastel polishes are impossibly to apply but this one goes on so smoothly, no streaks at all! Nude Sweet Nude is a shimmery rose gold bronzey colour that is right up my alley as well. I cannot wait to wear this one in the fall! Last, Pure Soul is a slightly pink toned nude. Although this one is darker than I Nude It, it was so much harder to apply! It was streaky and sheer and took almost 4 coats to get opaque! I would definitely choose I Nude it over Pure Soul if you are looking for a staple nude polish!
