Self Tanners Comparison

I am the palest person in the world. Where are the Guiness World Records when you need them? I deserve my million dollars stat. I tried very hard to change my pale state this Summer but in between working almost every day and hardly ever seeing the sun, that was extremely hard to do without the use of fake tanners. And to all of the people who constantly commented on exactly how white my legs are, thank you. Thank you very much.

So to celebrate the end of Summer and the return of pants to cover my white legs, I thought I would introduce all of my favorite self tanners so you guys can find the perfect ones for you by next Summer!

Bioderma Photoderm Autobronzant Tanning Spray★★★★★: I love the feel of this spray! It’s so lightweight and feels very hydrating as well as soothing! It doesn’t give a dark colour though so you almost have to use it every single day to build up a solid tan.

Lancome Flash Bronzer Dream Legs★★★☆☆: This one is a very dark spray with a strong floral scent that masks any of that yucky tanner smell. Also, even though this one is a spray format, you would definitely have to rub it all in afterwards to get an even coating of the tanner. It’s not as quick and easy as it looks.

Madame La La West Coast Bronzing Serum★★★★★: I just got this one and I absolutely love it. It’s supposed to be a tanning serum for your face, but I use it all over my whole body. It smells like coconuts (YUM) and it blends in very nicely. It comes out almost a black colour so it’s easy to see where you have rubbed it in. Just make sure to wash your hands IMMEDIATELY after you apply it or else you will have orange hands forever. Or use gloves.

St. Tropez Bronzing Mousse★★★★☆: This one is always everyone’s favorite, but for some reason, I’m just not obsessed with it. It definitely works well but I wish it was more moisturizing. It gives me a tan but it’s nothing special. Plus this one has a very strong self tanner odour which I can’t stand.

Clarins Instant Smooth Self Tanning★★★★☆: I am always terrified of face tanners, but this one has a silicone type feel to it that almost acts as a primer underneath your makeup. It blends effortlessly into your skin and in the process, helps fill in any pores and fine lines! It’s a tanner and skincare all in one!

Clarins Delectable Self Tanning Mousse★★★★★: This was the very first self tanner I ever tried and it will always be my favorite. Like the Jergens Moisturizer, it is a white colour before it develops so it can be hard to make sure you’ve rubbed it all in, but if you take your time, it’s a wonderful product! I love that it moisturizes my legs at the same time!

Clarins Delicious Self Tanning Cream★★★★☆: This is a very similar product to the mousse mentioned above. However this is more of a gel formula that is tinted so you can see exactly where you apply it. Plus it smells like chocolate, so how could you not love it?!

Clarins Self Tanning Instant Gel★★☆☆☆: This is another great self tanner! It instantly absorbs into the skin when you apply it so you don’t get any of that sticky, greasy feeling afterwards! However, this one does have a stronger scent of self tanner than any of the other Clarins ones unfortunately.

Jergens Natural Glow Moisturizer★★★☆☆: This is a great one if you want absolutely no fuss. Just use it as you would any other regular moisturizer. It comes out white so just make sure to evenly and fully rub it into your skin and use either everyday or every second day for a natural tan!

Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs★★★☆☆: I know this one isn’t a self tanner, but I thought I would still include it in this post. It’s a great option for those who just want a tan for one day or even just to cover up bruises, veins or mosquito bites on the legs. It comes in handy quite a bit! Plus it never rubs off onto my clothing. I wore it with a white dress once and it wasn’t a disaster!

Dior Bronze Self Tanner Face★☆☆☆☆: I did not like this face self tanner at all. I am very picky of the tanners I put on my face and I always prefer something foolproof. This one was tricky to blend out completely and it did not absorb nicely into the skin.

Dior Bronze Self Tanner Body★★☆☆☆: For being Dior, I expected something a bit better, but this one is basically your average self tanner. It does the job, but nothing extra. It produces a nice looking, natural tan but it didn’t help to moisturize or condition my body at all.
