Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Makeup Stick

We’re talking ALL about contouring on the blog today. But first, we have to get one thing straight. I’m not the biggest fan of contouring. I’m not sure if it has to do with the fact that I’m deathly pale (the two are definitely correlated), but I’ve just never been able to figure out the trick behind contouring. Plus, who has time to do that everyday?! Foundation is already enough work as it is.

But luckily, the focus of this post isn’t contouring. I just contradicted myself. I literally just said“we’re talking ALL about contouring on the blog today”. I even put the“all” in ALL caps. Basically clickbait. But anyways, the focus of this post is really more about the new Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Makeup Stick. But clearly this shade doesn’t match my skintone, so it makes a great contour!

I was first introduced to the realm of Lancome foundations through their original liquid Teint Idole Ultra 24hr Foundation. This was an awesome foundation. Full coverage, long-wearing with a matte finish. Then I tried the second addition: the Teint Idole Ultra Cusion Foundation. That one was even better with SPF 50(!) and a lightweight, yet totally full coverage and matte finish. So, of course I was super excited when I heard that Lancome was releasing yet another foundation counterpart in the Teint Idole range.

I’ve never been a huge fan of stick foundations. I generally find them harder to blend and too thick of a consistency. However, this Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Makeup Stick might just be the exception to my dislike of stick foundations. This one is extremely creamy. It just melts onto your fingers and face and blends out effortlessly. It’s marketed as having a soft matte finish but I find it’s more of a satin finish. I still like to set it with a translucent powder to ensure that it’s long wearing and matte all day. This stick also has SPF21 in it, which is always a must for me! I love that more and more foundations are choosing to include a decently high SPF in them.

The great things about stick foundations are that they’re super versatile. It’s not only a foundation. They can double as a concealer, contour shade, and a highlighter! I received mine in my contouring shade: 350 Bisque ©. It’s cool toned which I absolutely love for a contouring shade because it won’t go orangey on my face. I don’t go super heavy duty when I contour. I swipe the stick down the hollows of my cheeks, down the sides of my nose and sometimes around the edges of my forehead. I then ensure I blend it all in perfectly for a flawless, but contoured, finish!
