For most, Christmas still seems months away (maybe because it actually is still months away), but for your friendly neighbourhood Beauty Experts (aka me, Emily and NikiShoppers), Christmas is just around the corner because all of the beautiful Christmas sets have started to launch at Shoppers Drug Mart. And if there’s one thing I love, it’s Christmas Sets. They’re a great value, often include limited edition items and are packaged so nicely. They’re made for gifting, but this year, I just gifted myself. Treat yo’ self right? Just kidding, I’m basically the Grinch.
Every year, Stila comes out with their mini Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick sets and last year, I decided to be a“responsible adult” and not buy one. I’ve regretted it ever since. So right when the Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick Sets arrived at Shoppers, I immediately snatched it up. This year, Stila came out with a couple of different sets. They launched two trios- the Naturally Nude set that I will be talking about in today’s post and a more colourful Bright & Bold set. In addition to the trios, Stila also came out with a larger deluxe mini set (all of those words seems to contradict each other, I’m not good with words) called the Stay All Day, Sparkle All Night set. That set includes five mini Liquid Lipsticks plus the new Glitterati Lip Top Coat that I’m DESPERATE to get my hands on.
But anyways, today we will be focusing on the Naturally Nude Liquid Lipstick trio. Like the name suggests, this set includes all nude shades. However if you’re as pale as me, these definitely won’t be“nude” on you. Two of the shades are brand new, limited edition shades and one is a permanent colour.The first shade, Serenata, is SO dark on me. But it’s gorgeous. It’s described as a cognac rose, but it definitely looks like a chocolate brown on me which is very trendy this Fall. I’m kinda digging it.
The second shade is one of Stila’s most popular liquid lipsticks, Patina. I’m obsessed with this shade. Like Serenata, Patina also goes incredibly dark on me (check it out in this #OOTD), but on my friends it’s more a of a mid-toned pink. It’s described as a dusty rose and it’s the perfect everyday Fall colour. And to make things even better, this is the first lipstick my mom has ever liked on me. I KNOW, this is life changing. My mom hates when I wear makeup most of the time so the fact that she actually liked a lipstick on me is really monumental. In other words, you NEED this shade.
The third and final shade is Perla which is actually the colour I was most excited about. It’s a pale nudey pink (but once again, not so pale on me #palepeopleproblems, wow, that was a good alliteration, Taylor.) This one is like a love child between Baci and Caramello. It’s less purple than Baci and more pink than Caramello. Wow, great description, Taylor. But it’s seriously gorgeous. Just take my word for it alright?
I am SO pleased with this trio. It retails for $26CAD ($20USD), so it’s a fantastic value for three shades! However, let’s just talk about the formula quickly. They are true liquid lipsticks so they are extremely drying. But if you take the precautions AKA exfoliating and moisturizing your lips beforehand and using a lip liner, they’re definitely workable. They’re not my favorite formula (NYX Lip Lingerie wins the award for that), but the shades are gorgeous so I know I will be wearing this trio a ton over the Fall and Winter!
