I wore this outfit the other day to Brunch with my friend, Tars, and she took one look at me and promptly called me a snow bunny. And truth be told, there is nothing I’d rather be in -30 degree weather. I am SO OVER this whole winter thing. I hate it. I hate the snow. I hate the cold. I hate the wind. Why do I live in Edmonton? Why do I live in Canada? Because I go to university here, that’s why. But once that degree is in my hand, I’m out of this place. I hope. However, until then, I just have to suck it up and keep dressing as warm as I possibly can (while still looking a lil’ cute or at least trying).
The star of my outfit today is my Sorels. I love these boots. I didn’t wear them nearly enough last year since I got them later in the year so I’m trying to make it up by wearing them as much as humanly possible this year. I used to stick to wearing them with my parka (see here), but lately I’ve been trying to branch out a little more. I always see girls walking around campus wearing them with things other than a parka like lighter jackets. I always thought that gave off a seasonally confused vibe, but they just make it look so darn cute and y’all know I wanna look cute. So, long story short, I didn’t wear them with a parka today.
Instead I wore my favorite jacket from Zara. I know that I call every single item I wear my favorite but this jacket seriously takes the cake. I’ve already worn it two other times on the blog (here and here) and that’s saying a lot. The fact that the same clothign piece has been featured three times now in only two months means I can’t get enough of it. It’s just a really good jacket! AND it’s on sale right now at Zara for their semi-annual clearance event. It’s sold out online, but if you’re lucky, maybe you can track it down in store! How bitter am I that I didn’t get it on sale? Very bitter. Except I love it. So maybe I’m not so bitter.
To complete my whole‘snow bunny’ image, I’m wearing my favorite toque from Topshop. Ugh Taylor, please stop saying favorite. Oooh, that should be my challenge for the month. I’m not allowed to use the word favorite in a single blog post. I honestly don’t think I could do it. Anyways, this hat. It’s great. I just love the oversized pompom. But the best part, it’s so freaking warm. It’s double lined, so my ears have never suffered a cold day in this hat. Also I’m practically deaf when I wear it. But at least I’m warm. It’s worth it.
