When I think of lip liners, I think of super skinny pencils that are only good for lining the edges of your lips. So when I opened these boxes from Buxom, I was surprised to see big ol’ fat pencils coming out. But when I went to test them out, I decided bigger was definitely better in this case (and every case? SHUT UP TAYLOR). They are still thin enough to line your lips but they’re also thick enough to use as a matte lip colour all over your lips as well.
I absolutely love the formula of these lip liners. They have a very plumping formula so your lips look big and full. These work absolutely amazing if you layer a gloss overtop as well. I don’t think my lips have ever looked better. Stay tuned for my outfit of the day photos on Friday on ze blog to see what the shade Confidential looked like! These pencils also have amazing pigmentation with a full coverage colour and a creamy matte finish. They’re not streaky or patchy like some lip liners tend to be. And to ensure even coverage all over the lips, the other side of the pencil also includes a lip brush for easy blending! This addition is such a lifesaver. It makes it the perfect product to throw in your purse for touchups through the day.
Buxom released TWENTY shades of these liners. I absolutely love when a brand comes out with such a wide array of colours. It really helps you find your perfect shades! I received eight of the twenty and I am so impressed with the colour selection!
White Russian– The palest out of the eight, but definitely a true nude. It’s a staple in any liner collection!
Confidential– The PERFECT summer colour. It’s a light nude coral. I can’t wait to see what this would look like on someone with a tan. But it also looks great on paler skin tones (AKA mine).
Hush Hush– A rosey cinnamon shade. It’s the perfect“your lips but better” shade. Absolutely essential for an everyday lip colour.
Restricted– A deep rose, also a great shade for everyday! This one is going to match so many of my lipsticks!
Code Red– If you don’t have a red lip liner in your collection yet, this is definitely one you need. Everyone needs a true red lip.
InfraRed– This one is such a fun shade! It’s a bright orangey-red. Again, it’s going to look absolutely amazing in the summer. The perfect going out to the bar shade.
Scandalous– A deep pink magenta. It’s gorgeous. Looks amazing with a clear gloss overtop. It really makes your lips pop!
Espionage– Definitely the most bold out of the eight shades. It’s described as a blue red on Sephora. I say it’s purple 😉
