Clarins Classic Creams

Let’s just discuss how good of an alliteration the title of this blog post is. Ooomph, everyone loves a good alliteration, myself included. But this post is about so much more than just an alliteration (obviously, how boring of a post would that be otherwise?). Today, I’m going to be talking about my FAVORITE skincare! I know that I talk about a whole bunch of creams on the blog but there is still one die-hard favorite that I always go back to, the Clarins Hydra Quench Cream-Gel (now renamed and reformulated as the Hydra-Essentiel Cooling Gel). And recently I’ve added another cream to that favorites list for my (barely) maturing skin, Multi-Active Jour Cream-Gel.

I’ve used the Hydra-Quench Cream-Gelfor almost four years now. That’s a heck of a long time to be using the same cream. I can’t even begin to estimate how many jars I’ve gone through over that period of time. At least 10 for sure. But, that has to show you exactly how much I love this cream. It’s pretty basic with no anti-aging benefits. It hydrates and moisturizes your skin and that’s basically it. However, it’s extremely lightweight and absorbs instantly into your skin without feeling heavy or sticky. It keeps my skin feeling healthy and hydrated even in these dry Alberta winters, while also being sure not to make my skin breakout anymore than usual. And the scent is light and refreshing. If you want a simple, yet effective hydrating cream, this is the one for you. The new formulation (not shown here) is even more amazing with a new texture in the form of a cooling gel. I can only imagine how amazing it would be in the summers. I would slather it all over my body.

But now that I’m twenty-two (how many times have I stated that I’m the big 22 in the past week? Answer: A TON), I’ve realized that I need to start slowly (but surely) converting into anti-aging skincare. It pains me to say so, but it’s true. So, I upgraded in Clarins to the Multi-Active range (same brand, different line). The texture of the Multi-Active Cream-Gel is incredibly similar to the Hydra-Quench/Essentiel, yet it has the added anti-aging benefits. It minimizes and smooths fine lines while boosting radiance! And it’s only $8 more than the non-anti-aging Hydra-Quench/Essential cream ($46CAD vs. $54CAD), so if you’re like me and nearing the aging starting line, then this would be a great product to try out!
