Lush Spring Goodies

Finals season has started at university and to say I’m stressed would be a huge understatement. But you know the one thing that really helps with stress? Baths. A lot of them. But it can’t just be any kind of bath. It has to be the whole shebang for maximum relaxation full of the most delicious scents and products. And lucky for me, Lush hooked me up big time.

I Love Juicy Shampoo & Veganese Conditioner

So a bit of a funny story first. When I first received this shampoo and conditioner, I thought the expiry date was a month from now so I was using it 24/7 (that’s an exaggeration, I was just using it every single shower) to try to get through the whole bottle before it went off. But turns out, the expiry date is a whole month AND a year from now. SO NO RUSH FOR LUSH. (Please laugh, that was funny)

Back to the actually shampoo and conditioner. This shampoo is everything I’ve ever wanted (and everything you’ll ever want if you have oily hair). First of all it has fresh squeezed mango, papaya, kiwi and pineapple juices. Basically you’re putting a smoothie on your hair. But what’s great about this one is that the slightly acidic fruit enzymes hep to really clean and dissolve all grease, dirt and product buildup which I especially need because I use a TON of dry shampoo throughout the week.

I wish I was as excited about the Veganese Conditioner as I was about the shampoo, but I just can’t say I am. My lovely friend Rae over at The Notice did a review on this conditioner and she had the same thoughts me. Basically it’s a incredibly thin and lightweight formula, definitely not something I’m used to. I end up using a ton of this on the ends of my hair to overcompensate. And the scent. Oh boy. I usually love every smell that comes out of Lush, but this is one I cant get behind. And to make matters worse, the scent lingers on the hair until you wash it again. It’s just way too herbal for my liking. However, this conditioner isn’t all bad. Despite it’s light formula, it makes my hair feel amazing! Because it’s so lightweight, it doesn’t weigh my fine hair down and it gives it plenty of shine!

Breath of Fresh Air Toner

I have always hear the BEST things about Lush toners so I was super excited to try this one. First of all, it’s in spray bottle which makes it a million times better. It’s so cooling and refreshing and definitely wakes you up when you spray it on your face every morning. This one contains a blend ofsea water, aloe vera gel and rose absolute that soothes, cools and hydrates stressed-out complexions (AKA ME) and calms redness as well!

Avobath Bath Bomb

Lush bath bombs are so popular and yet, I’m afraid to say I’ve never tried a single one. Until now. I got to try out the Avobath Bath Bomb and it was the greatest moment of my life. Regardless of what it did for my skin, I was just excited to see the bath water fizz up and get all bubbly and turn the prettiest shade of green. I felt like a giant avocado. Did you Taylor? Did you really? This one contains lemongrass and bergamot essential oils with freshly mashed avocados (do you want to eat this bath bomb because I do) and organic extra virgin olive oil to leave you with the softest, hydrated skin. It’s the bomb. (HA GET IT? Bath BOMB.)

Outback Mate Soap

Is this not the prettiest slab of soap you’ve ever seen? Don’t lie to me, I know it is. This is the Outback Mate Soap and I feel relaxed and calm by just looking at it. It contains a blend of eucalyptus infusion, lemongrass oil and peppermint oil which is especially great if you’re sick and congested. Once this gets mixed in with the hot steam, it really clears your sinuses. I love it.

Whoosh Shower Jelly

What’s the description on this Shower Jelly you might ask?“Wash with Whoosh for renewed focus when tired, jet lagged or STUDYING FOR EXAMS”.So basically this was made just for me. Only me. I’m the only student who studies. Woe is me. Anyways for those of you who don’t know what a shower jelly is, it’s basically the greatest thing in the world. It’s a a shower gel in the form of a jiggly jelly (try saying that 10 times fast). You can pull little pieces off of it (or use the whole thing like a bar of soap), get it wet and lather it up and use it to cleanse your entire body! This one contains carageenan extract which is a type of seaweed that is great for softening your skin, but you can also use it on your hair and scalp! It also has lemon, lime and grapefruit oils so it smells absolutely amazing!

Ocean Salt Face and Body Scrub

And so we’ve finally come to the last part of my Lush review but we definitely saved one of the best for last. This is the Ocean Salt face and body scrub with sea salt and lime to brighten and avocado (avocado makes anything 100 times better) to soften. This is one of Lush’s best selling products and honestly it’s because it contains limes extracted in vodka (you can get drunk off this stuff- TOTALLY KIDDING). It’s super refreshing and exfoliating because of both the fine AND course sea salt. It’s the perfect scrub to use right before you apply self tanner and with summer coming up, that is very important!

But what makes Lush so great apart from their delicious smelling and amazing products? Their company values. Lush is a company you’ll feel good about giving your money to. They fight animal testing, are 100% vegetarian (and a lot of their products are vegan as well), they promote ethical buying, they’re ALL handmade (watch their factory videos on youtube, I’m addicted), use limited packaging and they use the freshest ingredients possible. So, save your skin and save the world. It’s a good thing they’re doing.
