Over the past few months, I’ve featured quite a few shower gel options on ze blog (check out myBe Delectableand Lush reviews for starters), but that’s not going to stop anytime soon, because I have a whole new review today all about a shower gel brand that just came to Canada all the way from France! Le Petit Marseillais is actually the #1 selling bodywash brand in France so it’s about time they’ve made their way to Canada. (And fun fact: they’re actually owned by Johnson & Johnson; who knew!)
To be honest, the main selling factor for me when picking out a bodywash is it’s scent. All I care about is that it smells good so let’s discuss the scent range of the Le Petit Marseillais Shower Crèmes first!
Cotton Milk and Poppy Shower Crème – So when I read the name of this one, I have to admit I wasn’t intrigued in the slightest. I thought it would just be fresh and floral, which might sound good to some people, but it’s just not my thang. However, this scent is one of my favorites (definitely top two for sure). It’s so fruity with a hint of floral and a powdery softness from the cotton. It’s great.
Vanilla Milk Shower Crème – You can probably guess what this one smells like. It’s a gorgeous creamy vanilla with a hint of pistachio (speaking of pistachio, I just had a bowl of pistachio ice cream and it was yummy in case you were wondering).
Orange Blossom Shower Crème – Honestly, I wish this one had a bit more orange in it because I am a citrus fiend, but beggars can’t be choosers. Am I beggar though? But anyways, this one also has jasmine, vanilla and musk in it that makes it absolutely irresistible.
White Peach and Nectarine Shower Gel – This is the only gel of the bunch, but the scent is equally as delicious. I love peaches (only because they remind me of Fuzzy Peaches and y’all know all I care about is food) and this one just smells so fresh and fruity. Fun fact: the peaches in this are picked in the South of France at their height of ripeness. I am now craving a juicy peach.
Lavender Honey Shower Crème – If I had to pick a least favorite scent of the bunch, it would have to be this one, but only because I am not a fan of honey nor am I a fan of Lavender but I know a TON of people are obsessed with those two so don’t go attacking me in the comments! This one is so fresh, it almost makes me like Lavender. It’s a miracle.
So yes, the scents are absolutely to-die for. Honestly, I’m probably going to start showering twice a day just so I get a chance to use these more. Isn’t that what summer’s for anyways? Hurrah. But aside from their delicious aromas, the formula of these body washes are also amazing. They’re super gentle so they won’t irritate your skin and they’re pH neutral as well so they’ll balance everything out. Also, they foam up quite nicely and create suds which I always appreciate in a body wash. Who knew I was so picky about shower gels?! Plus, they leave your skin feeling soft, moisturized and nourished, making it ready for that perfect summer tan. (Yes, I’m still determined to get a tan this summer.)
