The First Outfit of Summer

I never really realize how much I miss summer until the warm weather hits and all the fun memories from last summer come flooding back to me (#funsummerthings2015). This was the first day it truly felt like summer. (And yes, I know it’s technically spring, but once I’m done school, I just consider this whole four month break as summer.) The sun was so hot, everyone was outside walking their dogs, we even ate dinner on the patio at the restaurant that night. If that doesn’t scream summer, I don’t know what does.

My favorite part of this whole outfit are my shoes. And this is going to be a long story. So go grab a snack and let’s have a lil’ talk, shall we? I have been OBSESSED with this whole backless mule trend. Like those fur-lined Gucci loafers? Yes. But every single mule is so darn expensive. I was at Winners and I found the cutest suede grey mauve mules for 60 bucks. Not bad, right? So I bought them but then I also bought a car and suddenly 60 bucks seemed way too much for a pair of shoes I probably didn’t need. So I returned them.. and instantly regretted it. Since then, I spend weeks trying to track them back down, but I was unsuccessful. I still can’t stop thinking about them to this day. If you love something, don’t let it go, ya hear? However, I did find this almost as cute pair at Forever 21 (such a goldmine sometimes) and I knew I would regret them if I didn’t get these either so I picked them up. They’re super cute and I think they look fantastic with this outfit. There’s just one problem. They are uncomfortable. Actually, for the first four hours of wearing them, they were fine. But by the time the sixth hour set in, the blisters were unbearable. And, I still have the scars left to prove it.

For the rest of my outfit, I went for a pretty classic Taylor look. Boyfriend jeans, silky top, white bomber with some gold jewelry pieces. This is what I live in all summer so get prepared to see many variations of this outfit over the next couple of months. Except maybe minus the shoes. My blisters will have to heal a little first.
