candy.ca

We’re stepping away from fashion and beauty for just a second this week to focus on my third favorite thing in the world, candy. And what better way to get your candy fix than through a monthly box? Candy.ca is a Canadian candy subscription service that contains up tothree (that’s a ton!)pounds of candy with 6-7 different types! (If you want to get an idea of the variety of candy offered, check out some of the past boxes here)!

But, I know what you guys really want to know and that is what I thought of the candy I received so here we go! Try not to drool too much as your listen to these descriptions.

  • e-frutti Sour Bubble Gum Bottles – I’m not a fan of bubble gum, but the sourness that is mixed in with the bubble gum flavour works surprisingly well! Plus the pink and blue bottle shape is absolutely adorable.
  • Jelly Belly Green Apple – Green apple is one of my all time favorite flavours so I was super pumped to receive a whole bag of these jelly beans. However, I did learn that jelly beans just aren’t as fun when there’s only one flavour. I miss throwing them into my mouth and trying to guess the flavour.
  • e-frutti Orange & Cream Slices – I had such high hopes for these lil’ orange slices but they were very bland in taste. They weren’t extremely sweet so if you don’t have a huuuuge sweet tooth (I don’t know why you would order a candy box though), then these are the ones for you!
  • Allan Wine Gums – I used to think wine gums were a thing of the past but my brother absolutely loved these! I personally find them too chewy for me, but the flavours were really delicious especially the raspberry and grapefruit!
  • Allan Sour Watermelon Slices – Who doesn’t love sour watermelon candy? Watermelon is one of my favorite flavours for a sour candy so these lil’ guys are definitely a winner. They’re the perfect soft gummy texture with the perfect mix between sour and sweet.
  • Shimmer Sixlets Princess – I swear these aren’t my favorite just because of the name or their appearance. These metallic candy coated chocolate balls are the most delicious thing I’ve ever tasted. The chocolate is rich and sweet and almost malted (think Maltesers chocolate) with a very thin candy coating that doesn’t distract from the chocolate. I eat these by the handful and it takes so much willpower to put the bag down.
  • Rockets – I honestly forgot how good Rockets are. I haven’t had one in probably a decade, but I’m so glad to have rediscovered them through this box. I just love their tangy flavour and melt-in-the-mouth texture.

So yes, the majority of the candy was delicious and I ate it all up faster than I probably wanted to. My dentist is going to be after me for sure. But although most of the candy was a winner, the cost of this box might not be. The monthly cost for the box is $29.95 (CAD)/month (but you can save a few dollars by purchasing the 3-month or 6-month plan) with a $6.95 shipping cost. Although the candy was delicious and you get a decent amount, spending 35 bucks a month on candy just isn’t justifiable for me (and other college students). However, with that being said, I think this box would make an awesome gift for a friend or a boyfriend/girlfriend (the perfect anniversary gift I think) because who wouldn’t love a box of candy being sent right to their doorstep?!
