Rockslidin’

You know what one of the hardest things to do is? Walk down a very steep, very slippery, pile of rocks in a pair of shoes that don’t even have a back to them (AKA mules) that could easily fall off your foot any moment. But you know what? I did it. I risked the biscuits just to get these photographs of my outfit for y’all. And people say blogging ain’t hard. Psh. Pro blogger over here. No big deal. Okay, I’ll stop now.

So I had a garage sale the other weekend and as a bit of a back story, I have always asked my mom if she has any cool‘vintage’ (I use this term lightly) pieces from her childhood that she could pass down to me. But, she always said that she didn’t have anything. Well folks, I found out my mama has been lying to me. As we were prepping for the garage sale and clearing out our closets (mine more than others), I discovered a few hidden gems in her discard pile- one being this amazing knit tank that is the perfect beige tone and cropped length for pairing underneath all of my jackets and the other being this western belt that became the mandatory accessory for my Stampede weekend in Calgary. (Plus a floral scarf that became the perfect purse scarf, watch out for that in an upcoming #OOTD). So, I would advise all of you to go raid your mothers’ closets for items and don’t take no for an answer. They be lying to ya if they say they don’t have anything you would like.

With this outfit, I wore my white embroidered jeans again from Zara and although I gave them an average rating in my last #OOTD, I really do like them. They look fairly good on and they do seem to match the majority of items in my closet. So I’m a happy camper (who is actually a happy camper? I hate camping. That phrase is stupid). To complete the outfit, I threw on this light chartreuse jacket and added my favorite pair of mules (that mentioned above, almost cost me my life on this windy day). And!!!! I finally found a pair of sunglasses!!!!! The exclamation marks were definitely necessary to show my excitement. My face is tiny. Sunglasses are big. We usually don’t belong together. But, I found these sunnies at Loft during their clearance sale for 10 bucks and they surprisingly fit my face nicely. And they have mirrored lenses. And they’re my favorite dusty rose shade. We’re a match made in heaven. Until I sat on them in the car. Now they just sit a lil’ wonky on my face. It’s fine. We’re fine. Everything is fine.
