Now that it’s finally October, I’m in full basic white girl mode. I don’t know why, but I am soexcited for Halloween this year. I don’t even have a costume picked out yet, but boy oh boy, I can hardly wait till the end of this month. One of the best things about Halloween however is Lush’s themed range for the holiday. They go so over the top and if there is one thing that can help me relax with midterms nearing, it’s a bubble bath that is scented with Fall fragrances. Pumpkin spice bubble bath anyone? I am so basic.
This year, Lush came out with sixteen products in their Halloween line and lucky lil me got to try out five of them! It’s always such a good day when a Lush package comes in the mail. My dog was going crazy over all of the scents and smells. He might even love Lush as much as I do.
The first product is the Goth Fairy Shimmer Bar ($7.95CAD). I have nevertried out a shimmer bar from lush before. I know, I know, what kind of Lush fanatic am I?! So for those of you who were like me and aren’t familiar with Lush Shimmer Bars, they are a solid lotion-type bar with shimmer so when you rub them over you body, they melt and deposit a trail of glitter behind. Sounds magical, right? This cutie smells like a fruity perfume of bergamot and grapefruit oilswith hydrating illipe and cupuaçu butters to moisturize your skin as the weather gets colder. The shimmer is definitely the best part of this bar because it’s not too over the top. Instead it just adds a little bit of glimmer and shine to your skin!
A Halloween bubble bath wouldn’t be complete without a spooky bath bomb so I was super excited to get this Monster’s Ball Bath Bomb ($7.95 CAD). It’s so damn adorable with it’s one eye and blue horns. To be honest, I am gonna be a little sad to throw this guy in the tub and watch him fizz away. We’ve grown quite attached to each other. This one has a morefruity lime and neroli perfume that is absolutely irresistible.
I also got to try one of Lush’s makeup items this time around. It’s the Black Rose Naked Lip Tint ($9.95 CAD). It’s basically a solid lipstick bar. These little bars are changing the way makeup is sold. How many times have you bought a makeup item that just comes in over-the-top, excessive packaging? This bar has none of that. It’s totally naked. Saving the environment one lipstick at a time. And although it can be annoying to get the colour all over your fingers while you use it, I would recommend using a lip brush instead to apply it to spare the mess! The colour is absolutely beautiful and perfect for Halloween. Although it looks like a deep black purple shade, it’s actually a much brighter pinky magenta shade!
The last two products are definitely my favorite. They are the cutest pumpkin Bubble Bars I have ever seen. Both the Sparkly Pumpkin ($7.95CAD) and the Pink Pumpkin ($7.95CAD) Bubble Bars are so glittery and beautiful. They are coated in sparkles that get everywhere, but I don’t even mind. We all need a little more glitter in our lives. The Sparkly Pumpkin (the gold one) is scented with an energizing blend of juniper berry, lime and grapefruit oils while the Pink Pumpkin is more floral with a blend of geranium, bergamot and jasmine. Both bars produce mountains of fluffy, fragrant bubbles; what more could you want in a bath tub?!
