Maybelline Brow Products

To be honest, I’ve never really tried drugstore brow products. It’s not because I have negative feelings towards them, I just always gravitated towards a little more higher end brow products like Benefit (the Goof Proof pencil and Gimme Brow gel are some of my faves), However, I’ve always been super curious to see how drugstore brow products would compare. And out of all the drugstore brow products I’ve come across, Maybelline has always looked like the brand to beat.

Let’s get the bad news out of the way first. The first product, the MaybellineBrow Drama Shaping Chalk Powder is not the one for me. It’s a super interesting, but weird item. It’s a narrow shaped paddle brush with a fine, loose powder that clings to it when you pull it out of the tube. It’s as messy as it sounds, which drove me absolutely crazy. Not only does the powder get all over your hands but there’s also major fallout on your face when you tryto apply it to your brows. Plus, the colour is way off on this one. Instead of a nice neutral taupe-y blond, it’s a very warm toned brown that does not work for me whatsoever.

However, all is not lost. The other two brow products worked great! The MaybellineBrow Precise Micro Pencil is honestly comparable to the Benefit Precisely Mine brow pencil. It’s super thin (1.5mm to be exact) and it’s the perfect combination between a soft and hard formula. It’s glides on without being too creamy, depositing the perfect amount of product. I love this for adding short, fine strokes at the end of my brows where it’s more sparse to imitate hair! It work extremely well.

But my favorite product of the three is by far the Maybelline Brow Precise Fibre Volumizer. When I first pulled the brush out of the tube, I thought it looked to thick and gloopy for my liking, but I soon found that wasn’t the case at all. The gel formula has fibres in it that attach to your own brow hair to add volume and thickness where there might be some sparseness. Also the brush on this product is super cool. It’s a tapered spoon brush so it deposits the perfect amount of product while also ensuring application is precise, especially at the ends of your brows!
