The Remnants of Black Friday Shopping

This year I was super excited about Black Friday. Black Friday has slowly made it’s way over to Canada and lucky for me, I now have two huge shopping days to look forward to every year (the other one I’m talking about is Boxing Day, duh, that will always be #1 in my heart). Anyways, I have started to realize (ready to admit) that I have a shopping problem. It’s not that I buy a lot of stuff. I have quite a bit of self control when it comes to that. However, I do get unreasonably excited about shopping. I don’t know why, but I’m my happiest self when I’m walking around a mall. Thus, you can imagine Black Friday was a very happy day for me indeed.

And if you need more proof that I don’t actually buy that much for my“apparent’ shopping addiction, the only thing I bought at the mall on Black Friday was this purse. But it’s not just any purse. It’s a mustard yellow purse. I have been dreaming about a mustard yellow purse for quite some time now, but none that I’ve come across have been even close to perfect. Until now. I was in Topshop at 8:30 AM and saw a girl hold up this purse to her friend. My world stopped. It was love at first sight. I immediately walked over to have a look for myslf and told myself that if the purse was less than $80, it would be mine because the whole store was 40% off (you go Topshop!). And when I picked up the purse (drumroll please), it was only $40. Needless to say, I bought it. $25 bucks after the 40% off is quite the steal I thought especially for the most perfect mustard yellow purse.

So I’ve been loving using this purse as a pop of colour with my monochrome black and grey winter outfits. Today I paired it with my favorite leather pants from Zara and a black and grey striped turtleneck also from Zara. Side note on Zara: has anyone else found their stuff is going downhill lately? I used to go crazy at their store on Black Friday, but this year I only found twothings I liked and I’m probably returning them both. They just don’t impress me much anymore.

Overtop of the turtleneck, I’m wearing a black boucle wool coat from Forever 21. This coat is my staple in the winter. I’m always so surprised when I remember that I got it from Forever 21 on clearance, because the quality is amazing and it’s so warm and cozy. For boots, I’m wearing my Sam Edelman black leather booties that are still so so so slippery and might cause me injuries in the near future. Good luck, Taylor.
