Deck of Scarlet Foil Shadows

I recently got to try out Deck of Scalet’s FULL (they really spoiled me) range of Eyeshadow Foils and my oh my, did it change my life. These colourful, bold shadows were exactly what I needed to break me out of my boring ol’ shell of only wearing matte neutral colours. I have absolutely loved playing with them and experimenting with new eye looks! Gone are the days of my Urban Decay Naked Basics palette. The new Taylor is here y’all.

All of the shadows come packaged separately for $12 a pop and then you can buy the empty magnetic palette for $16 to hold them (the palette comes free if you buy 10 or more shadows)! I love when companies sell single shadows and palette separately because then I can have full creativity off how I want to arrange my palette and you only have to buy the shades you love! I arranged my palette in a design with two quads and three duos of shades that I would probably wear together.

Top Left Quad:

Raven – Pale yellow gold

Kelly – Metallic bold gold

Melly – Bronzed rusty orange

Lupe – A deep reddish copper

Top Right Quad:

Evon – Pale pink champagne

Amy Rose -Icy iridescent pink

Masha – Shimmery warm bugundy

Caitlin – Deep true red

Middle Duo:

Stephanie – Violet smokey grey

Nikkia – A blue brown duochrome

Left Bottom Duo:

Isabel – Light gold-y chartreuse

Sande – A royal velvety blue

Right Bottom Duo:

Kasey – Dark gunmetal

Kim – A burnt rosey pink

The shade range is absolutely stunning with unique colours that pair beautifully together! And the formula is equally as beautiful. The foil formula is loaded with pigment and shimmer. They are so buttery and glide on smoothly without being too chunky (like the Urban Decay Heavy Metals palette which the shade range was reminiscent of). These are some of the most pigmented shadows I’ve tried in a loooong time.

However, I have to admit they are a tadexpensive at $12USD ($15CAD), so I’d recommend picking up maybe two or four of your favourite shades to start and adding to your collection over time. For good starting shades, I’d definitely recommend something like Caitlyn, Melly, or Lupe because they are so unique and are sure to create a stunning look with shades you already have!

However, Deck of Scarlet also has a subscription-style service that is a bit more affordable in my opinion (although it doesn’t include the foil eyeshadows yet). For$29.95(USD) every two months, you get a specially curated palette in collaboration with a Youtuber that is a $124 value! The palettes include shadows, lip colours, blushes and eyeliners so it’s a great way to try out Deck of Scarlet’s products for a fraction of the usual price!
