Makeup Geek Flawlessly Ever After Collection

Oh, Makeup Geek, how I love you. Makeup Geek is one of the most successful (and first) Youtuber-created makeup brands by Marlena Stell. Her cosmetics have always gotten stellar reviews, so I was super excited to get my hands on a couple of her products from the Flawlessly Ever After Collection and put them to the test. (Spoiler alert: I was definitely not disappointed).

I got to try out a couple of her highlighters and was blown away by how beautiful they are. Her highlighters retail for $20USD and come in a huge variety of shades! They have the standard gold and pink highlighters with some fun, more colourful duochromes as well! Luster is a rosy tan with a reflective, luminous finish and is described as being best suited for fair skin tones. It can be applied lightly for a super subtle, shimmery effect or packed on for that strong strobe on your cheekbones. The second shade is my personal favourite, Daybreak, which is a soft peach with a golden finish. Although it is described as being best suited for medium skin tones (which I am most definitely not), I love this shade on me. I pick up some of the product with blush brush and blend it in with a coral blush so it enhances my cheek bones and then I’ll use a lighter highlighter on the top of my cheeks. It gives the most beautiful, glowy look. Definitely give this a try!

I was also super pumped to give her bronzer a try. As you know, I am so pale, so it is so hard to find a bronzer that compliments my skintone rather than looking like I piled a bunch of powder on my cheeks. There are many days when i go a little too heavy on the bronzer and look like I spent a week year in Mexico. I’ve always dreamed of a bronzer that I can swipe on without looking like an Oompa Loompa. Well, my prayers have been answered. And yes, this is even better than Benefit Hoola Lite. This is in the shade Sun-Kissed($22USD) and it’s described as a delicate kiss of warmth for the fairest skin. The fairest skin? Yes, that’s me. Thank you very much. And the reason why this bronzer is so much better than it’s Benefit counterpart is because it’s slightlyglowy. It has a very, very, verylittle pearlized finish so it adds the most beautiful bit of radiance to your skin. It’s definitely not shimmery or glittery so don’t be frightened off by that! It just makes your skin look super healthy, like it would after a fresh tan.

Oooh let’s talk about eyeshadows now. Makeup Geek is KNOWN for her eyeshadows. I have heard countless raving reviews about them and they did not disappoint. I got to try out two of her newest quads from the Flawlessly Ever After Collection. All of her eyeshadows are sold individually in pans so you can build your own palettes but she does also release limited edition ready-made palettes. The first is in the shade Wish which is a warm-toned palette, AKA, right up my alley. The four shades includeI’m Peachless which is a light buff base with a peachy-pink duochrome,Roulette, the most GORGEOUS rosy, burnt sienna with a silky, shimmery finish (basically a burnt orange in my world),Cocoa Bear, a deep matte reddish brown (AKA burnt orange’s best friend), andBada Bing, a gold-flecked chocolate brown. These four shades pair perfectly together to create the most beautiful eye look. I’m obsessed! The second palette is the more cool-toned one called Dream. It’s purple themed, which I’ve never really ventured into, so I was super excited to play with it. It includesPhantom, which is a white base with a violet purple duochrome,Anarchy, amedium magenta with an ultra shimmery finish,Cherry Cola, a deep matte brown with strong red undertones, andDrama Queen, a super dark purple with a shimmery finish. This is purple done right, y’all.

And last, but definitely not least, There are the Flawless Full Face Palettes, which are probably my most favorite thing in the whole collection. However, one of mine broke on the long journey to Canada (a single tear dropped from my eye when I opened the shattered palette), so i only have one of the face palettes to show y’all today. But alas, it is beautiful. The Flawless Full Face Palettes come in four different skintone ranges: Porcelain Princess, Fair Lady, Bronze Baroness, and Ebony Empress. My oh my, do I wish I had darker skin, because that Ebony Empress is STUNNING (I love a burgundy blush). This one is the Porcelain Princess palette($38USD) and it comes with two blushes, a highlighter and bronzer specially suited to your skintone. Aka, they’re all pale enough for me! Hooray! The blushes in here are AMAZING to put it simply. Theres a light peachy coral in Sweetheart and a pastel cool-toned pink called First Crush. They are so buttery smooth and blend out perfectly. The highlighter in Gleam is gorgeous as well and is a super light white gold. It adds so much shimmer to my cheek bones. The bronzer included, Tryst, is slightly darker than the Sun-Kissed bronzer mentioned above and is totally matte! All four shades are so perfect for fair skin and it’s such a convenient palette to use with everything in one place! I love it!
