A Not So Tame Winter

Guys I seriously thought we were having a tame winter and then it snowed again and now it’s like -25°C everyday and I’m very unhappy about it. Buuuut, there is one good thing about the snow. It covers up all the muck and dirt and makes everything look clean again. Like how beautiful do the woods look in the background of these photos? It’s a winter wonderland y’all. Let’s just hope this doesn’t continue much further into February because I’m over it. I should probably get winter tires for Fernie the Fiesta, but I’m praying the snow will melt in a week. Keep yo fingers crossed.

So the star of this outfit today is definitely these boots. They’re more of a statement pair for sure. The thigh high leather and gold chain detailing make them a lil’ (a lot) obnoxious, but I love them. The leather is super soft and flexible so they’re not as uncomfortable as they might appear. Plus, I’m really excited to wear them with dresses and skirts when the weather warms up a bit. See, another reason why I hate the snow. It deprives me of my dresses and skirts outfits. It’s a shame.

But, because it was so cold today, I wore these boots paired with a simple pair of black denim. What’s that Taylor?! You finally found a pair of black jeans?! HALLELUJAH. It’s a miracle! These are the Chrissy style from Citizens of Humanity. And if you’ve been following along, you may know that my favorite style of Citizens are the Rockets. These are basically the same except that they’re even more high waisted, which I thought I wouldn’t like, but they make the tushie (butt) look good. And folks, if it makes my butt look good, that’s really saying something. Because my butt needs a whole lotta help in that department. I’ll be doing squats after I finish writing this blog post.

For the rest of the outfit, I’m bundled up in my warmest grey turtleneck from Oak and Fort, which is the softest thing ever AKA my favorite thing ever. Overtop, I’m wearing a green and grey plaid coat from Simons, which really isn’t the warmest thing but I didn’t want my parka in this outfit (for obvious reasons) so I froze to death for y’all. You’re welcome. And then to complete the outfit and add a bit of colour, I’m wearing my mustard coloured purse from Topshop that I’m still in love with. Oh and then there’s my dog too. He’s always my favorite accessory in my outfits. I was going to buy him the cutest mustard yellow polar-fleece jacket today so he could match my outfits, but my dad said that would be a little too over the top. Pshhhh. What does he know.
