I’m back at it today with another Hard Candy product launch that is filled with shimmer, glitter, and more shimmer. So as you can guess, I’m real excited about it. Because me and glitter go hand in hand. I’ve always really enjoyed all of Hard Candy’s launches because they come out with the coolest and funnest products for being such an affordable, drugstore brand (available at Walmart in Canada and the US). And this Cosmos collection from Hard Candy is definitely no different.
Lets start with the two eyeshadow palettes because these are definitely the most glittery out of the whole collection. The Look Pro Galactic Eyes palette is a 10 pan eyeshadow palette with metallic, galaxy inspired shades. The formula of these shadows are super cool. They’re more of a mix between a cream and a powder so I would definitely recommend using your finger to apply them instead of a brush to get the most even coverage on your eye. And boy oh boy, these are pigmented (as you can see by the swatches in the photos above). The second palette is the Glitteratzi Glitter Gel Palette that is honestly the most amazing palette I’ve ever owned from Hard Candy. This palette totally reminded me of one o those palettes from Claire’s (those glitter glue shadows were my shit when I was younger) but the quality of these are so much better and it’s so smuch more than your average“play” makeup. These glitters are suspended in a non-stick clear base so they easily glide onto your eyes and set. And the glitter is intense. No patchiness, just full on glitter wherever you want it. If I was going to a music festival this year, you’d better believe I’d be wearing these.
The highlighters in this collection are pretty but If I’m being entirely honest, they are not those blinding highlighters that are oh so trendy right now. These are much more natural. The Sheer Envy Prismatic Highlighter Iridescent Pearl Powder has little silver and iridescent flecks of glitter to add a touch of a highlight and shimmer to your cheekbones while the Just Glow Baked Highlighting Trio includes 3 shades that have purple and blue iridescent duochromes to give you a pop of colour on your cheekbones! And I must mention the brush included in that trio palette is absolutely amazing! It’s so soft and fluffy and perfect for applying the highlighters!
But we’re not done there – there’s more glitter to come. With this collection, Hard Candy launched some new shades of their Fierce Effects Lipsticks that I’ve always been a huge fan of! Mine is in the shade Galactica (#1048) that is the most beautiful nude-y mauve with a purple shimmery duochrome. It’s so unique and looks gorgeous on the lips. I also tried out a couple of eyeliners in the the shades Twisted Grape (#1271) and Abyss ((#1272). Twisted Grape is a gorgeous shimmery bright purple while Abyss is a sparkly black. I’ve been really enjoying wearing colourful and bold eyeliners on my waterline lately so these have been a hit! It adds a fun pop to my eyes when I don’t feel like wearing any eyeshadow or lipstick! It pulls my look together. Lastly, the Glitteratzi Liquid Sparkler is a multi-use product that can be applied to lips or eyes (or anywhere else) to use as a glitter topcoat. Once again, absolutely perfect for festival season.
