Spring Makeup Favorites

It seems like its been ages since I last did a roundup of all my favorite beauty products from the past couple of months! I used to do them quite regularly (seasonally to be more exact) but I haven’t been the best blogger lately. It’s hard to stay on schedule sometimes y’all. But anyways, it’s not good to reflect on the negatives. We gotta move on. Embrace change. Look to the future. So here is my makeup favorites for spring!

Milk Makeup Blur Stick

It’s crazy to think that there was ever a time when I wasn’t a fan of primers. Now I strive to wear one almost daily because it really does help me create the perfect base for my foundation. Who would have thought primers actually do their job?! This one from Milk Makeup is so convenient being in a stick so I don’t have to use my fingers to apply it. Plus it blurs out all my pores and helps even out my skin texture so it doesn’t look super bumpy when I put makeup on over it! (Full review here)

Double Wear Nude Cushion Stick

I am on that glowy skin train so any foundation that promises radiance is automatically a favorite for me. This one is a little less coverage than the original Double Wear foundation so it’s perfect for the summer weather! The only thing I don’t like is the applicator. It’s pointless and messy. But luckily the sponge is removable so I don’t have to deal with it!

Guerlain Météorites Heart Shape Palette

Guerlain always comes out with the prettiest makeup and this palette was part of their Valentine’s Day collection so it was even prettier than all the rest. It’s a three shade palette that includes 2 highlighting shades and a blush shade. You can wear them alone or swirl the brush in the whole pan to combine the colours and create a perfect blush or even an all over face powder since it’s super sheer! It just gives your skin a perfect healthy glow! But, it is limited edition so I would highly recommend picking it up before it’s gone for good.

Makeup Geek Highlighter in Luster

This has definitely been one of the highlighters I reach for most lately. It’s not too much of a blinding highlight (I hate the look of really strong highlights on me) but it’s also a bit more dramatic than a sheer highlighter that I often opt for. It’s the perfect cool toned highlighter to compliment my cool toned, pink skin and I find it doesn’t have any chunky glitter particles in it so it doesn’t make my skin look more textured like some highlighters do. Essie Treat Love & Color Nail Polish in A-Game

Now that it’s sandal weather, my toes need to be on their A-Game (HAHA get it – because the polish shade is named A-Game). No but seriously, painted toenails are a must for me in the spring and summer. But I’m also super paranoid about damaged nails when I’m painting them that much so this Essie strengthening nail polish is an absolute game changer for me. It promises 60% less peeling and stronger nails in just one week!

Guerlain La Petite Robe Noire Lipstick in #011

I have a slight MAJOR obsession with Guerlain lipsticks. They are the epitome of beautiful shades, beautiful packaging and beautiful lips. This is the La Petite Robe Noire Lip Colour that is essentially a super hydrating, glossy lipstick. They come in a wide variety of shades and they smell DELICIOUS. It smells like you’re spraying a perfume on your lips. I dig it. This shade is the perfect neutral nude-y rose that is so flattering on every skin tone and with every makeup look!

Elizabeth Arden Plump Up Lip Liner in #04

To go with the La Petite Robe Noire Lipstick mentioned above, a good lip liner is always necessary. I love pairing a lip liner with lipsticks to define the shape of my lips more and I find they help more moisturizing, slippery lipsticks stay on longer! This Elizabeth Arden Lip Liner is super smooth on the lips and is a great colour match to my lipstick!

Dior Brow Styler Pencil in #011 Light Brown

I have never really cared much about my brows. Honestly I don’t really know how to fill them in to make them look good and I’m way too scared to get them waxed and/or threaded and/or shaped. I’ve heard way too many horror stories about having half their eyebrow waxed off by the esthetician. But this brow pencil from Dior is super easy to use. It’s a powder formula so after you fill in your brows, you can brush them out and the powder disperses so it looks even more natural! I’m a fan.

Lancome Monsieur Big Mascara

I can’t say enough good things about this mascara. It’s lengthening. It’s volumizing. It doesn’t flake. It stays on all day. It doesn’t clump. It’s a real winner in my eyes. My eyelashes are super fine even though they’re long so a good mascara can be hard to find that doesn’t weigh them down but adds a good amount of volume! If that sounds like you, this is a mascara you need to check out! (Full review here)
