What I Wore In Mexico – Day 1

It’s almost been two weeks since I got back from Mexico and I am in serious vacation deprivation (that has a really nice rhyme to it). All I want to do is lie on a beach and try (and fail) to tan and eat some really good food with my boyfriend. But alas, life must go on and I have been thrown back into work full force ever since I got off the plane in Edmonton. But lets relive my fabulous vacation through a number of outfit posts from Mexico this month!

The minute I booked my vacation to Mexico, the shopping for the perfect beach outfits started. Surprisingly, I actually didn’t struggle with deciding what to wear. I stalked the Forever 21 website for a good two weeks and then placed a ginormous order with everything I planned on wearing in Mexico. So yes, every single piece (excluding shoes and purses) in my Mexico OOTD’s will be from Forever 21. They seriously have the best beach outfits. I knew that once I was back in Edmonton, I really wasn’t going to wear these outfits much again so I didn’t want to splurge on any items. Plus, I didn’t want to worry about ripping or staining or ruining any expensive clothes on the beach or in the water. Thus, Forever 21 was definitely the right place to hit up when vacation outfit shopping for those perfect, cheap pieces!

I am obsessedwith this two-piece set. Coordinated two-pieces are so popular this summer and Forever 21 has an abundance of them! Everything about this one was calling my name. Mustard Yellow? Check. Cute summery floral print? Check. Not too body-hugging but showed just the right amount of skin for a tropical vacation? Check. Cool and breezy? Check. Skirt in the front, shorts in the back AKA party in the front, business in the back? Check. It’s honestly perfect. And I’m pretty sure I got both the top and bottom for around $40 (but I believe it’s on sale right now, so you can get it for even cheaper)! That’s a steal!

But I didn’t stop there. This outfit wouldn’t be complete without a fun accessory. These tassel earrings screamed my name the second I saw them on the Forever 21 site. They are a mixture of pink, red, white and mustard yellow (of course) tassels that couldn’t have complimented my outfit more perfectly! I love a good matchy-matchy look. And side note: Mexico shops have the besttassel earrings. They’re a bit harder to find in Edmonton but seriously every Mexican clothing store has a wide array of them for so cheap! You better bet I picked up a couple.
