What I Wore in Mexico – Day 2

You would think after spending a week in Mexico, I would have a tan. That would be logical the thought. However, I think I actually got palerin Mexico. I’m not even exaggerating. See, the thing is before I left for Mexico, I slathered myself in self tanner (my favorite one currently is the Clarins Delicious Self Tanning Cream) multiple times so I had built up quite the nice fake tan. But when I got off the plane in Mexico, I immediately jumped in the ocean and the pools and alas after all that swimming, there was no self tanner left to be found. And the thought never crossed my mind to bring self tanner with me to re-apply. Therefore, I was left with pasty pale skin all week. So please enjoy all these photos of me looking like I spent a week in Alaska, not Mexico. (Wait, Alaska is warm right now too, that’s not even a good joke).

I looooooove this romper. This originally wasn’t one of the items I was planning on taking on my trip but I kept seeing it online and in store at Forever 21 and it just looked so breezy and cool and easy for a vacation outfit. And it really was. It has an elasticated waist with a front tie that you can actually tie yourself. That doesn’t sound like a big deal but it’s essential in making sure all your nips and bits are covered, you feel? I wore this romper constantly throughout my week in Mexico. I wore it out for dinner (right after I took these photos) but it was also an easy cover-up at the beach! And, if you’re wearing it over a swimsuit, you can even leave the front ties undone so it’s even easier to put on and take off throughout the day when you’re entering and exiting the ocean!

The rest of my outfit is relatively simple because I was definitely not one to be fussy in Mexico. I just wore my nude block heel sandals (of course). I literally only wore these sandals the whole week (except for my flip flops when I was at the beach). I’m so glad I didn’t bring as many shoes as I originally planned because I definitely wouldn’t have worn them all. I ended up only bringing this pair, cheap Old Navy flip flops and my Nike Roshe Run sneakers and that was it! I’m a light packer surprisingly (except for the fact I forgot to pack self tanner).
