Fannying About in a Fanny Pack

Now, now, now before we start the hate comments on what a poser I am, let me just clear a couple of things up. First, apparently people wear fanny packs like this now? They’re no longer meant to go around the waist. They now come with an extra long strap so you can wear it across your chest. It’s fashun okay. And second, my brother ASSURED me it was indeed cooler to wear your fanny pack this way. Now there is a chance he was just trying to sabotage me but I always take his fashion advice when he gives it (which is rare). After all, he has more Yeezys than I have friends and he knew what Balenciaga and Off White was before I did. He should be the one writing a fashion blog, not me. And third, I actually predicted that fanny packs were going to come back in style three years ago. Nobody believed me but I. WAS. RIGHT. Therefore, based on the three reasons listed above, please don’t make fun of me and let’s just all wear our fanny packs (apparently the cooler term is hip packs) how we please.

I actually wore this outfit for the first time walking around Mexico and it was shocking how cool it kept me in whopping 35°C with 80% humidity. I’ve actually never worn a tube top before so I was a little unsure how I would feel about one but oh man it’s a great, great thing! You know that feeling when you step out of the shower and you wrap a towel around yourself and then you sit in your bed for 30 minutes in said towel because you’re so lazy yet comfortable? That is basically what a tube top is. Just a strip of material that’s only purpose is to make sure your bits are covered. A great function it serves.

But with a comfortable tube top, you need an equally comfy pair of bottoms. I absolutely loved these pants when I stumbled across them on the Forever 21 website but I am now just how unflattering they might actually be. They looked so cute on the model online but then again, when do things not look cute on models? Never. Sadly, I am not a model and I am beginning to think I strongly resemble a clown in these pants. Just give me a round red nose and those big clunky clown shoes and a miniature vehicle to step out of (AKA Fernie the Fiesta) and I’m ready to go. Clown Tay at your service! But regardless of my clowning around (HAHA), these pants are comfy and incredibly lightweight and breezy making them an essential for hot weather.

Also, Oakley is wearing a tie. He wanted to dress up for y’all. Please appreciate what a good boy he is (and his new haircut).
