A Match Made In Heaven

Okay, it’s official. I love planning out my work outfits more than I loved planning my school outfits. When I graduated, I was under the viewpoint that I would never be able to wear cute outfits again. But man, this past month has been a whirlwind of great outfits. (I am a little biased about that, however). I think part of the reason I love work outfits is that they’re basically what I wore to school except I swap out a pair of jeans for a pair of cute trousers. I guess I was always destined to be the most stylish business woman. (Again, I’m very biased and apparently very narcissistic about my own outfits, sorry).

I’m DIGGING this outfit because of how matchy-matchy it is. I have this special place in my heart for some good colour coordination. So, let’s start with the pants. I picked up these pants during my lil’ (not so little) shopping spree at Aritzia and I’m obsessedwith the colour. They’re like a cute puke green. Mmm who doesn’t want to wear that colour?! They look more brown and subdued in these photos but trust me, in real life, they’re are a bright puke green. That’s the only way I can describe the colour y’all. Or like a chartreuse that is bordering more on the green side than the yellow size. Ya feel?

When I first bought these pants, I had no idea what I would wear with them. Since they’re such a bold colour, I figured I would stick to mainly all black so they could be the pop of colour. But it wasn’t until I got home that I pulled out my favorite wool plaid coat from Simons and discovered the two shades of green matched perfectly. A match made in heaven. Two peas in a pod. Birds of a feather flock together. Okay, okay, I will stop with the idioms. My apologies. But you get my point.

For the rest of my outfit, I did stick to all-black with a chunky black turtleneck that did it’s job keeping me warm during all the snow in September. It’s since been retired now that we are finally getting a true Fall in October (AKA 15-20°C instead of below zero). To complete the look, I added in this cabbie hat from Brixton that I really need to remember to wear more. I was having such a bad hair day this morning so I just tucked all of my hair into my turtleneck and plunked my hat on my head and now you can’t see any of my hair. You can’t have a bad hair day if people think you’re bald, right?
