I realized in my last #ootd, I never addressed the elephant in the room. And that was that I cut my hair. Shocker. I know. I only cut my hair short every single year so it’s quite the surprise. Yes, that was all sarcasm. I actually hate how my hair looks in these outfit photos. I find once my hair gets long, my way of curling it totally changes and I get used to that. Then, once I cut my hair to this shorter, shoulder length, I totally forget how to style it. I always have that little freakout for the first week after that haircut where I totally regret cutting my hair because I can’t get it to look good. But don’t fear guys, I learned how to style my hair again and it looks super duper cute. See last week’s outfit post if you don’t believe me.
Anyways, enough about my hair. We have an outfit to talk about. Coats are so important in winter to me. Anyone who’s familiar with Canadian weather knows you’re wearing a coat 99% of the day. Even at work I’m usually so cold, I keep my coat on throughout the day. And thus, because of that, I care more about my coat than the rest of my look because that’s the real part of my outfit. Usually my outfit doesn’t change much. The majority of the time, I’m wearing a turtleneck and some sort of dress pants or jeans and black boots. The coat is where the excitement comes in.
This is my number one favorite coat I own. That’s right. It’s not oneof my favorites. It’s THE favorite. Everything about it is perfect. It’s a gorgeous light pink colour made of 100% wool so it’s the warmest thing ever. It’s such a heavy and thick coat and I just feel so luxurious in it. You better believe I feel like the coolest business gal walking around downtown in it. They don’t have the pink colour in this coat at Club Monaco anymore because it was last season’s but they do have it in a gorgeous camel colour as well as a grey! I’m seriously debating getting the camel colour but my shopping has been out of control lately. But if you see the camel version of this coat on the blog next week, you will know I couldn’t resist it any longer.
As stated earlier, the rest of my outfit is pretty boring because the coat really is the only thing that matters. But let’s discuss it anyways. These pants are a winter staple for me. They are technically still a dress pant so perfect for my business casual work outfits but they made out of a checkered plaid (you’re being repetitive, Taylor) wool fabric so they are super warm unlike your typical cotton or polyester dress pants! For my top, I’m wearing the Seaton Turtleneck from Aritzia. These are the world’s best turtlenecks. They are tight in the sleeves and neckline but loose and flowy in the body with a cropped length so they are super flattering. They are the best thing to pair with high waisted pants. I own three colours in this style now so y’all know that means they are a big deal.
