A long, long time ago, when I first started this blog, I received the Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant. At the time, I had never seen anything like it. It was a powder (made from rice) that when you mixed it with water, it turned into a exfoliator for you face. It was the coolest product ever and I loved the way it made my skin feel afterwards. I tried to use it sparingly, only once a week, but eventually I did run out. Normally, I would have been find to repurchase the product because I loved it so much, but it cost a whopping $75 (CAD), way out of the budget for 17 year old Taylor. Actually, way out of the budget for 21 year old Taylor as well.
I had totally forgotten how much I used to love this product until I received a similar item in the mail a week ago. This one is from Biore and it’s the same idea, however there is a couple of differences. This one too is a powder exfoliant that you mix with water, however this one contains baking soda so it fizzes up which is a cool sensation! I find it to be a bit more gentle as well, it’s definitely not as harsh. But the biggest difference? The price point. This one is far far far away from the Dermalogica’s price tag of $75 at just $10. So far I’ve been very happy with this product. I have yet to notice a huge difference in my skin, but I’ll keep you posted!
I was also sent the Baking Soda Pore Cleanser from Biore as well. This cleanser is a bit more basic. I don’t notice any huge results from it. I’ve never had a problem with large pores so maybe that’s why it hasn’t really made a difference on my face! But I think I will continue to use this with the powder exfoliant and see how my skin does with them! And in the meantime, I will continue to dream about the Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant.
