  • COLAB Dry Shampoo

As I have said previously on ze blog before, I am a avid user of dry shampoo. Being a busy university student who really doesn’t have time to make sure her (why did we suddenly switch over to third person?) hair is looking on point at all times, dry shampoo has definitely become my best friend.

A few months ago, I did a relatively small Dry Shampoo Comparison post and although I was a big fan of the Dove Refresh+Care Dry Shampoo, there were still a few problems with it that I couldn’t get past (AKA the overpowering scent). So, because of that, I was still on the hunt for a new favorite dry shampoo.I was recently sent a couple of the COLAB dry shampoos. We actually sell these at Shoppers where I work and I always look at them, but have never tried them out until now! They have quite a few varieties with quite a few different scents (SIX!). The two kinds I got to try out was the Sheer Invisible Dry Shampoo and the Extreme Volume Dry Shampoo.

I got the Sheer Invisible Dry Shampoo in the scent London, which is their classic scent! I REALLY like this scent. It’s light with a bit of musk. Actually, you know what it smells like?! The Elizabeth and James Nirvana Perfume, which is one of my all-time favorite perfumes. That’s why I like it so much!! Aside from the scent, this formula is also really nice! Because it’s the Sheer Invisible formula, it’s quite a lightweight dry shampoo, meaning it works great at absorbing the oil from second day hair but if you’re working with really oily hair, you’re going to need something a little bit more (AKA the Extreme Volume Dry Shampoo that I will be talking about next). However, this dry shampoo is super great if you don’t need much oil absorbing. It sprays in clear, which I love and it brushes out so nicely. You can’t tell at all that you have dry shampoo in your hair throughout the day, which is one of my favorite things!

The Extreme Volume Dry Shampoo is definitely one for when you really should wash your hair but you really don’t have time. It can definitely be a lifesaver when you’re running late and you have a midterm in 30 minutes. I received this one in the scent, New York. If you know me, you already know I love this scent. I love everything New York and I mean EVERYTHING. This one is more fruity and a little citrusy! It’s super nice without being too overpowering. The formula for the Extreme Volume Dry Shampoo is quite a bit heavier. It’s more of a white powder so you have to be extra careful to really brush out your hair afterwards to avoid that dreaded grey chalky outcome. Although this dry shampoo might be a bit harder to work with, it definitely does it’s job well. It adds so much volume and texture to hair which is something I really need when my hair is more flat and oily.

Find the COLAB Dry Shampoo at your favorite Shoppers Drug Mart (AKA the one I work at) or online here.
