  • PÜR Secret Crush Eyeshadow Palette

I am a big big big fan of Pür Minerals(they changed the name to just Pür, it’s gonna take some getting used to) eyeshadow palettes. The shadow formula just works perfectly on my eyes (not too dry, not too creamy, blend out perfectly, you get the idea). I did a review on the Pür Soul Mattes palette two years ago and I still reach for this palette almost every day.. or at least once a week if I’m not exaggerating. It’s seriously the best matte palette, but now that we’re drifting into Fall and Winter, I’m definitely gravitating towards shimmery shadows a little bit more and so that’s where the Pür Secret Crush Palette comes in.

This palette is similarly shaped to the Soul Mattes Palette in a hard metal-like (it’s actually plastic. No wait, it really does feel like metal) container. I think one of the reasons I love the Pür palettes so much is because of the packaging. It’s one of the few palettes that doesn’t get all gross and dirty and covered in fingerprints and makeup stains. They stay nice and clean and they’re durable. It’s a weird thing to be excited about, but it seriously makes a difference. But enough about the packaging, we have eyeshadows to talk about.

The shades in this palettes are gorgeous. “It has not 7, not 9, BUT 8 SHADES. When’s the last time you saw a palette with 8 shades?” (Dimic, D., 2016) Of course I love the two left shades- the light cream and the pale pink. Both of them make fantastic all-over lid colours or if you’re darker than me (everyone’s darker than me), they are essential highlight colours. Pür always makes the best light shades. They’re so pigmented and I don’t have to layer it a bunch to make a opaque lid colour. But, the real treat of this palette are the four center shades. There’s a rose gold that is to die for. It’s probably the prettiest shade I’ve ever seen in my life. Next is a purple-y plum shade that is also metallic and equally as gorgeous. The next two shades are more gold and brown and like the pattern would suggest, gorgeous as well. Wow, I’m being descriptive today. The two right shades are okay. I’ve barely touched them, but are we really surprised? When do I ever use dark shades except for the occasional shadow liner? But honestly, this palette is totally worth it just for the four center shades alone. Did I mention the price? $43CAD ($32 USD). That’s an absolute steal for a palette like this. Plus you get a surprisingly good quality flat shader brush with it. The value is insane! Can you tell this is one of my favorite palettes this season? BECAUSE IT IS.
