  • Rodial Makeup Favorites

I’ve always loved Rodial skincare ever since Shoppers Drug Mart started carrying it a few years ago. My absolute favorite is the Dragon’s Blood line, in particular their Eye Gel. That stuff is amazing. However, this post ain’t about skincare today. Oh no, it’s about something far more exciting. Rodial MAKEUP. I have been dying to try Rodial makeup (have you Taylor? You’re so dramatic). If their skincare isthat amazing, I could only dream of how amazing their makeup would be.And for all y’all Canadians wondering how to get your pretty little hands on Rodial makeup because it sadly isn’t available at Shoppers, you can get it at Shopper’s sister store, Murale or online at beautyboutique.ca!

So the first is the new Instaglam Glow Complexion Enhancer, which is basically a liquid highlighter. This is probably the prettiest highlighter I’ve ever laid my eyes on. I applied it before going out to the bar one night (it was my first time going out in sooolong, so of course I took the opportunity to try out the most glowy makeup look). I applied this down the bridge of my nose and literally gasped at how illuminating it was. You know those makeup artists on Instagram that literally have the perfect highlighter without it looking fake or chalky or powdery or just weird in general? Y’all know what I’m talking about. Yeah, this highlighter was able to achieve that. Highlighter on fleek. But this is where the story gets sad. The next morning when I woke up (and yes, I did remove my makeup and wash my face the night before), I had breakouts all down the bridge of my nose (that’s a bit dramatic, I had three). I’ve never ever broken out on the bridge of my nose before so I can only assume that it is the highlighter to blame. But, in it’s defence, I do have extremely sensitive skin so it might just be my skin that would disagree with the highlighter. And to be honest, it’s probably not going to stop me from using it. Because it’s that pretty.

The next product is the Smokey Eye Sculpt Eyeshadow Palette. And yes, I know what y’all are thinking. Not another matte neutral eyeshadow palette. Like seriously Taylor, how many matte neutral palettes does a girl need? But I like what I like and this one, I definitely like. First of all, I love how little this palette is. It’s the perfect travel palette with six perfect shades. It has three warmer toned shadows with a matte cream, a matte camel brown and a shimmery coppery brown! The other half of the palette is more cool toned with a taupe, a deep brown and matte carbon black. These shadows are so soft and silky and blend perfectly! Plus, it’s the perfect palette to create a neutral eye look during the day and then deepen it into a smokey look for the night!

The Smokey Eye Pen is brand new to the Rodial range of cosmetics. It’s a super soft gel-like eye liner pencil. It smudges out effortlessly and is perfect for any smokey eye look. But once is dries, it’s very long lasting and won’t budge which is always an absolute must when looking for an eyeliner. Nobody likes an eyeliner that runs or smudges down your face throughout the day or night. This pencil comes in two shades, a matte black and a rich chocolate brown. The brown is absolutely gorgeous so pigmented and opaque. It just glides onto your eyes.

Usually I’m not the biggest fan of crayon lip pencils. I just always prefer a classic lipstick bullet instead. However these new Rodial Suede Lips crayons are changing my mind. They’re super pigmented but also very long-lasting! They are a matte finish yet they’re enriched with Vitamin E so they’re super creamy and keep the lips moisturized! Mine is in the shade Big Apple which I was a little scared would be a red because Heaven knows I need any more reds. But it’s a gorgeous rosey berry hue. It’s deeper than the nudes I usually wear but it’s still very wearable for everyday. Plus the crayon is more slim than the ones I’m used to so I’m able to use the tip of the pencil to line my lips first and get the perfect outline!
