  • Clarins Spring Launches

If there’s one thing that gets me all jazzed up (who are you, Taylor?) and excited about Spring, it’s all the skincare and makeup brands’ Spring launches. In today’s post, I have a couple of goodies from Clarins to share with you all. Two of the items are going to be permanent skincare items in the range and one will just be a limited edition item for this season (AKA you better go get it while you still can)!

    Hydra-Essential Serum

So if you weren’t aware, Clarins recently re-formulated their entire hydrating skincare line. Formerly called Hydra-Quench, it is now termed Hydra-Essential to fit better with their whole French origin. I have used this line for as long as I can remember. It was the first brand I ever tried when I transitioned over to higher end skincare (AKA not the Neutrogena crap), and I’ve been a long time fan since (see previous reviews here). I just finished my old Hydra-Quench serum, so this new formula couldn’t have come at a better time. It’s extremely similar to the previous formulation with a slightly more watery feel and an even better scent than before! This serum is a total lifesaver when you have dry patches on your face. I love to just layer this on under my moisturizer on those specific dry areas, avoiding my T-zone because I’m far too oily there for this serum to be needed.

    Ombre Iridescent Eyeshadow

I’ve always loved the Clarins Iridescent Eyeshadows. I’ve talked about the Silver Pink shade far too many times on the blog (read here and here), but that shadow will go down in history as my favorite eyeshadow ever. The formulation of these shadows are amazing. They’re almost a cream-to-powder texture while still being more of a powder than a cream. They’re so buttery and smooth and blend out perfectly. However, I have to admit I wasn’t too big of a fan of Clarin’s new shades for the Spring. They came out with a Silver White, a Silver Rose and a Silver Grey. All of which were nothing special to be honest. I received the shade Silver White and while it’s pretty and pigmented and the formula is just as good as the previous shadows, it’s not a shade I’m going to find myself reaching for. It’s far too much of a bright white that will really only be useful for using in the inner corner of the eyes. Anywhere else, it will be too much of a stark white.

    Multi-Active Yeux

Okay. So, we need a bit of a disclaimer before I start talking about Clarin’s newest eye cream. I don’t know what it is but every single eye cream I use on my poor eyes turns my skin into a dry patchy rash. The only eye cream I’ve ever found to work on my eyes is the Rodial Dragon’s Blood Eye Gel (read review here). And unfortunately with the new Clarins Multi-Active Yeux, I had the same problem as all the other eye creams before it. I thinkknow my eye area is extremely sensitive. But, with that being said, I still think this is a super great product, just not for me. This is a perfect eye cream to start out with when you are first looking into anti-aging skincare. It contains encapsulated Teasel extract to help protect and visibly minimize fine lines as well as Myrothamnus extract visibly smoothing fine lines and boosting radiance. Enriched with “illuminating pigments”, Multi-Active Yeux also helps to instantly lighten and brighten the eye contours. But the coolest thing about the Multi-Active Yeux is the applicator. The tip is a super cold cyro-metallic material that when patted along the eye area, helps to reduce any puffiness and dark circles!
