  • MUD: Make-up designory

It’s a rare occurrence to like every single product in a makeup brand’s line. But that’s exactly what happened with MUD (short for Make-up designory). When I got this package of goodies in the mail and started playing around with them, I quickly discovered that I was going to be obsessed with each and every product. So, as a result, I’m super excited to share what I love about it all today!

    Eyeshadows

Let’s have a chit-chat about the eyeshadows first. I got a bunch of shades to play around with and they’re all super stunning. The first is called Pixie and is the most gorgeous peachy pink with a gold sparkle. It’s the perfect all-over lid colour and it screams summer. I love it. Next is a golden-toned olive green named Moss. I’m not usually too experiential with colours but I’m definitely going to find a way to incorporate this one into my eye looks. The third shade is a gorgeous gold called Pyramid and would pair amazingly well with either of the two previous shadows. You can even apply it wet for a stunning bold metallic look! The next shade is my favorite of the favorites. It’s called Canyon and it’s basically me in a shadow. It’s a warm, matte, mid-tone brown. It’s the perfect crease shade. I have a feeling this shadow is going to be getting a lot of love. Last is a deep brown shade called Semisweet that should honestly be a staple in anyone’s makeup collection. So all of these eyeshadow pans will only run you $8, which is one hell of a steal for how pigmented and smooth and buttery they are. I honestly can’t stress enough how nice of quality they all are. If you don’t have a magnetic palette (like the Universal Palette($20USD) shown above) to plop them in, they sell individual eye compacts($3.50USD)as well!

    Brushes

MUD has always been famous for their brushes, so I was super excited to get my hands on some. The first is the #600 brush ($32USD), an eyeBlender/Buffer brushwith tapered bristles that makes it the ultimate crease blender brush. The second is the #615 brush ($52USD), a face Buffer brush. This one has the SOFTEST bristles packed in so densely. It’s absolutely amazing at blending and buffing out liquid foundation. It feels like heaven on the face. MUD’s 600 brush series is super nice because they are all made of synthetic fibers that were created to function like natural hair. Unlike the typical flat, untextured fibers that are designed to be used with cream products, these fibers have ultra-fine waves which create the porosity needed to pick up, hold, and deposit both powder and cream products. I can’t wait to pick up more brushes from MUD!

    Loose Powder

I have been looking for a new baking powder for quite a while now because I recently learned that I can’t live without setting my concealer. There is no other way to stop my under-eye concealer from creasing. This loose powder in the shade Zero($28USD)is completely transparent. It is incredibly finely-milled and ultra-light so it rests on the skin’s surface without settling into fine lines. It’s absolutely perfect for packing on under my eyes after I apply concealer and then letting it set for a while before I brush it off. It really helps to brighten up my under-eyes!

    Face and Cheek Colours

I also received some cheek colours, highlights and contour shades as well and I definitely loved them just as much as the eyeshadows. I got the highlighter in the shade Lemon($15USD) which is a matte, pale yellow powder. Surprisingly, I have never tried out a matte highlighter so I was pumped to try this one out. It’s the perfect shade for my fair skin and I love placing it under my eyes and under my cheek contour to really brighten my face. To compliment the highlight powder, I also tried out the contour powder in Shape($15USD)which is a nice matte mid-toned brown. It might be a tad bit dark for me but once it’s fully blended out, it works quite nicely!

I also got to try out the new Spark Cheek Illuminator($15USD) which might be one of the prettiest highlighters I have seen in a long time. It is so silky and buttery and the sparkle is so finely milled so it doesn’t look chunky on your skin or accentuate any pores. It’s a little dark for me (honestly, what isn’t?) so I’ve been loving using this as a blush topper or a transition shade in between my blush and lighter highlighter to add some extra glow to my skin! Speaking of blush, that brings me to the last product of today’s post! And, I definitely saved the best for last. This is the Glow Cheek Colour($15USD). I have been craving a new blush colour for the longest time, but none have really sparked my interest, until this one came along. It’s a peachy pink blush with gold shimmer and it just makes my skin look so glowy and healthy. It’s a really good blush. And that says a lot coming fro the self-proclaimed blush addict.
