  • Random Drugstore Favorites

This post really doesn’t have a theme. It’s just some items I picked up at the drugstore AKA my baby, Shoppers Drug Mart, and I’ve been really digging them, so I thought I would share all my thoughts! It’s kind of an old-school When I’m Olderpost when I would just talk about my favorite makeup products simply because I wanted to ramble about them and I had no one else to talk to (oh my, that sounded pathetic, whoops). So sit back, relax and let’s get on with the makeup!

    L’Oreal Voluminous Superstar Liquid Eyeliner

This is the eyeliner that made me fall in love with winged liner. Yes, that’s right. Before this eyeliner, I found winging out my liner was next to impossible. I always loved the Lancome Artliner, however that is definitely not the most ideal liquid liner to do wings in my opinion. I needed something more pointy and firmer. Which is exactly what the L’Oreal Superstar liner is. It’s incredibly fine-tipped so you can get the sharpest winged liner ever. Plus it’s super pigmented and black and won’t skip or get patchy. You can draw one fluid line with this guy. And once it’s on, it doesn’t budge throughout the day!

    L’Oreal Black Velvet Liquid Eyeliner

This is probably the funkiest eyeliner I’ve ever seen. It’s so fluffy. It’s like you took a Q-Tip and dipped it in black paint and then used it to apply your eyeliner. Sounds horrible, right? WRONG. Although this looks like it would be impossible to use, it surprisingly draws a nice line on my lid. However, unlike the L’Oreal Superstar liner that I talked about earlier, this one should definitely not be used for winged eyeliner… unless you want a really funky look wing. But, this liner does create a nice normal lined upper lid. It’s great for creating a thicker line, but you can turn it on it’s side for a thin line as well! Very versatile! And because it has such a fluffy,“velvet” tip, this line isn’t too sharp and harsh. It creates almost a powder liner effect so it looks a lil’ more natural.

    Maybelline Master Contour

I’m really not a fan of cream contour products (I say that about everycream makeup item), however this one isn’t too bad. It’s not too greasy of a cream so it almost has a powder finish. The unique part of this stick is that one side is the highlighter shade and the other side is a contour shade! I thought it would be much harder to use with the two colours blending into each other, but I haven’t run into that problem! And the highlighter shade is actually lighter than my skintone (for once) so it does it’s job quite nicely of brightening up my face! Plus, I previously didn’t have luck finding a nice matte cream highlighter so if you haven’t been able to find one either, definitely check this one out!
