  • Spring Skincare Routine

I haven’t done a full skincare routine update in a while so now that it’s Spring, there’s no better time! Spring cleaning y’all. My previous skincare routine update was a long time ago, all the way back to last summer. However, since then, my skin has changed a lot (hello anti-aging!) so my routine has also had to change alongside it.

Philosophy Purity Made Simple Cleanser– I have used the La Roche Posay Effaclar cleanser for years, but things get boring after a while so I’ve been changing it up. However, it’s quite the challenge to find a cleanser as good as that one. This Philosophy Purity one comes pretty close though. It’s a 3-in-1 cleanser for both face and eyes which I usually hate. The 3-in-1 aspect refers to the fact that it can be used as a cleanser, toner and makeup remover. However, I still use a separate makeup remover (and I never use toner but that’s besides the point). This cleanser is best for oily skin and to be honest, it made my skin extremely dry at first. But, my skin then got used to it and it’s been working really well ever since!

Fresh Black Tea Instant Perfecting Mask– This mask is a lifesaver. That’s all I have to say about it. I don’t know the science behind it or how a mask can be SO good at transforming your skin but what I do know is that after I wash this mask off once a week, my skin has never looked better. It’s brighter, my blemishes are reduced, my skin tone is evened, it’s hydrated, it’s firmed. Everything is just better in the world with this mask by my side. Slight exaggeration? Maybe. The price might be a little hard to swallow at $112 CAD ($92USD), but I can promise it’s well worth it. And it smells reallygood.

Dior Capture Totale Dream Skin– This is a serum-like (not exactlya serum) product that really does it ALL. So let’s discuss exactly what it does. It works on five major issues that most women find in their skin: wrinkles, pores, spots, redness, and a dull complexion. It reduces fine lines and wrinkles, tighten pores, and increase radiance, as well as refining the texture and minimizing any dark spots or redness with tightened pores. I used to think that this product was more for aging skin, but this is truly a universal product. I’d recommend anyone between the ages of 20-50 to give it a go. However, because I have more sensitive skin, I only use this product ever second day to limit any unnecessary breakouts from it. My skin is very temperamental.

Clarins Multi Active Day Cream– This cream has become my ride or die moisturizer. As you know, I have used the Clarins Hydra-Essential (formerly named Hydra-Quench) cream for years, but alas when I turned twenty two, I put on my big girl panties and switched to a light, beginner’s anti-aging cream. This one targets fine lines and is also an antioxidant gel so it boosts radiance and makes your skin look healthy and fresh. This is the cream-gel version, but to be honest, I think my skin needs a little bit more so I will probably be switching to just the cream version (for all skin types).

Clarins Multi Active Yeux– Eye creams are such an important part of any skincare routine and yet, I am absolutely horrible at using them. It’s always the step that I forget. But, I’ve been trying really hard to get in the habit of using them and I’ve really been enjoying this Clarins Multi-Active eye cream. It has a cooling metal applicator that takes down any puffiness in the under-eye area as well as the cream helps to add brightness and diminish any fine lines!
