  • KENZO World Eau de Parfum

I was recently invited to the launch for the new KENZO World Eau de Parfum and I was so excited to learn about the inspiration behind the fragrance and the campaign following it! But first of all, I’m gonna need y’all to watch the short filmadvertisement, by the extremely talented Spike Jonze and featuring dancer and actress Margaret Qualley,to introduce the fragrance. It is a truly fantastic piece and really embodies who the KENZO World woman is. The spirited, energetic campaign shows a woman breaking free from what others think, daring to be herself. The bottle is truly exceptional as well, as the Kenzo fashion house played a big part in helping design it. The mixing and matching of materials was inspired by Kenzo Fashion (specifically the KENZO Kalifornia bag) with the frosted glass, the beautiful pinky gold charm and the rubber gommato cape cap. It’s the embodiment of the synergy between fashion and fragrance. The overall eye design of the bottle illustrates an iconic motif of KENZO fashion, being a universal symbol of openness to the world.

But as beautiful as the KENZO World bottle is, with any perfume review, the most important thing is how the fragrance actually smells. When I first saw the bottle, I immediately thought it was going to be a much fresher, floral scent (something I don’t usually go for). But, I was so pleasantly surprised to smell something more fruity and sweet (and much more my style). The scent is described as an amber fruity floral explosion which would explain exactly why I love it so much. The notes are a mix of raspberry, peony, jasmine and Ambroxan. Anyone who knows me knows that raspberry and I go hand in hand. My obsession with raspberry has stretched on for twenty-two years and it ain’t stopping anytime soon. And he Ambroxan, a woody-amber ingredient, really makes this fragrance what it is by turning it more rich and sensual and making it truly unique.
