Wow is that a real-life cowgirl or just Taylor pretending to be one with a hat and a basic bitch western belt?! Because lemme tell ya, if there’s one way to dress for the Calgary Stampede, it’s with a western belt, a cowboy hat and the prettiest pair of cowboy boots. But let’s ignore what a poser I am and get on with the outfit!
This romper has been a staple in my closet for two years now and yet it has never made it’s way onto the blog. I first picked this romper up from Forever 21 (on a crazy clearance sale!) and since then it has followed me from afternoon picnics to evenings on the patio to wild nights in Las Vegas and most recently, the Calgary Stampede. I haven’t been to the Stampede in years so I was super excited to go back this summer with my boyfraaand. But I knew that I would need to change my normal clothes into a western extravaganza. Ya feel me?
So I wore this burnt orange romper and like any girl circa 2017, I added my favorite western belt. The oversized silver buckle on this belt just adds the perfect stampede vibe to the outfit. And of course you can’t forget a cowboy hat. Are you even a cowboy if you don’t wear a cowboy hat? The answer is no, helllll no. I picked up this hat at the stampede last time I was there and I have no idea if it’s an authentic cowboy hat although the tag inside states it indeed is. Is there even such a thing as authentic cowboy hats? Who knows. All I know is that I didn’t take this hat off the entire weekend and I regret nothing.
And this Stampede, I was finally able to wear a pair of cowboy boots because my boyfriend’s friend was nice enough to let me borrow hers! Are these not the most glorious pair of shiny black leather boots that you have ever seen? Too bad they are a bitch(for lack of a better word) to break in. Seriously, I could hardly wear these boots for more than an hour at a time because blisters were popping up everywhere. But I hear if you’re not a wimp like me and you take the time to break them in, they become incredibly comfy. Guess I’ll never know if that’s true.
