  • BITE Amuse Bouche Liquified Lipstick

I became a HUGE fan of Bite Beauty when I got to try out their famous Amuse Bouche lipsticks and lip pencils (see post here). So, I was super pumped to hear that they _too _(like every other cosmetics brand in 2017) was launching a liquid lipstick line! However, before we jump head first into the gorgeous shades, we must clear up the fact that these are _not _going to be like the liquid lipsticks you were probably expecting.

To me, a liquid lipstick has a matte, velvet formula and usually (but not always) dries for a long-wear finish. But if you are like me and that is too what you classify as a liquid lipstick, you are going to be forced to change your definition once you try out these Bite Amuse Bouche Liquified Lipsticks. And if you don’t like change and you refuse to open your eyes (and lips) to a new type of liquid lipstick, then these just might not be for you unfortunately.

But luckily, I have been welcoming change for a while now. My friend (and dear coworker), Ashley has always despised matte lips and has always needed a certain amount of gloss on her lips and because of this, I have too been avoiding matte lipsticks for a while now. The whole matte lip trend mightjust be fading into the past, hence why BITE decided their new formula of liquid lipsticks would be a good idea. So, because of Ash, I have not touched my Stila Stay All Day liquid lipsticks in probably six months and I have converted back into my beloved creamy lipsticks and glossy glosses. Therefore I didn’t totally hate the formula of the Bite Liquified Lipsticks.

There is one thing we need to get straight right off the bat. These are definitely glossy. There is not one matte thing about these liquid lipsticks. They apply incredibly creamy and then transform to a semi-glaze finish (use the BITE Line & Define Lip Primer to the prep the lips for application and enforce longer wear). I guess a good way to describe these liquified lipsticks would be to say they are a lip gloss on steroids. Think the texture of a lipgloss (not a sticky one however) and mix it with the pigmentation of your favorite Amuse Bouche lipstick. But what really sets these liquid lipsticks apart is how darn hydrating they are. The silicone-free (RAE! These are silicone-free!) formula is mixed with Monoi butter and coconut oil making them incredibly nourishing but also lightweight. These are the best hybrid liquid lipstick/lip gloss/OG lipstick ever.

And the shades! There are twelve shades in total in the line with a lovely mix of nudes, pinks, reds and everything in between. I was sent three colours to try: Demi-Glace, a deep nudey brown that looks absolutely terrible with my skintone (shown on my lips above), Éclair, my favorite of the bunch because it is a classic mid-pink shade and Flambé, a bright glossy red that will fall into my collection of red lipsticks that have never (and will never) be touched.
