  • Guerlain Fall Launches 2017

Oh, Guerlain, how I love you. Today, I have three very new, very exciting products to talk about. I have been a huge fan of Guerlain ever since I started working at Shoppers half a decade ago (and got over the initial shock of their prices). I have two new lip products (it seem like all I talk about on my blog anymore is lippies) and a new skincare product to share with y’all today!

In my (humble) opinion, I feel like matte lips are on the out. They shook our world apart for the past two years and yet, I feel like we were totally moving away from that trend this year. However, Guerlain launched not one but two new matte lip products for the Fall, so apparently matte lips are still very much in.

The first is the Kiss Kiss Matte lipstick. I absolutely adore the original cream Kiss Kiss formula so i was very excited to see how it’s matte counterpart would compare. These matte lipsticks are available in 9 gorgeous shades. I got the shade Spicy Burgundy which is a bit more red than I would have preferred but is surprisingly wearable on the lips! Even with the matte finish, these lipsticks are moisturizing, smoothing and plumping thanks to the mango butter, hyaluronic acids and chilli derivative (to increase lip volume). They’re definitely not a dry matte. In addition, they are super long lasting and pigmented with a 4.5 hour (gettin’ specific) wear time. Plus, the packaging couldn’t have been more gorgeous. The matte gold tube is so sleek and elegant.

The second matte lip Guerlain launched for the Fall is the Intense Liquid Matte Lipstick. I have been waiting years for Guerlain to make a liquid lipstick but it appears they were a tad bit late on the bandwagon. However, the wait was well worth it because I really do like this formula! One of the first things I noticed was how lightweight it feels on the lips. It almost absorbs into the lips and leaves a powder-like finish. But don’t worry, just like the Kiss Kiss Matte lipstick, these Liquid Mattes aren’t drying as well and have an equally long wear time. And they also contain the mango butter and hyaluronic acids to smooth, nourish and plump the lips! There are six shades of these in the line (a little bit limited in my opinion) and mine is in the shade Exciting Pink which goes a little too dark on me and looks almost like a red (booooo).

Now for the skincare product! I love Guerlain skincare. When I am a rich businesswoman, Guerlain will be all I use for my skin (with a mixture of Clarins products thrown in, can’t forget about Clarins). And I’ve recently been hopping on the face oils bandwagon, so when Guerlain launched this Abeille Royale Youth Watery Oil, it was a match made in heaven for me. This oil is a redesign of their previous oil, Abeille Royal Face Treatment Oil. The new oil is much more lightweight thanks to it’s new formula with the oil actually being encapsulated in little micro-drops that are broken open once they hit the skin. WithOuessant Black Bee Honey and Royal Jelly, the skin is not left looking extremely radiant and healthy, it’s also nourished, firmed and lifted as well as helping to combat future signs of aging!
