  • Kérastase Chronologiste Collection

I am so excited to be talking about Kérastase again on ze blog. Back in the day, I used to think whatever ol’ shampoo and conditioner would do the big task of making my hair look clean and healthy. But ever since I started out trying out the different Kérastase lines, my opinion on this whole luxury vs. drugstore haircare debate changed.

This is the Chronologiste line and it’s described as Kérastase’s most luxurious hair care collection yet. If that doesn’t capture your attention, I don’t know what will. The Chronologiste collection is for all hair types and concentrates on total hair and scalp renewal, leaving hair feeling nourished, regenerated and light with radiant shine. I got to try out the four products in the line and my oh my, my hair has never looked better. Bless the Kérastase Gods.

The first product in this line is super duper cool for a lack of better words. The Gommage is an exfoliating scrub. I know that we’re all familiar with face and body scrubs but this is the first I’ve ever heard of one for the scalp and hair! It’s a pre-cleansing treatment to detoxify the scalp and hair before shampooing and stimulates microcirculation of the scalp in order to boost the shampoo’s efficacy. I never knew a product like this existed but it’s definitely one I’m happy to have in my life. It’s a great product for getting rid of the dry shampoo buildup on my scalp because there are days when I may or may not douse my hair in that stuff, oops. This product can be a bit hard to apply to the scalp when you have long hair, but if you use a comb in the shower to section off pieces of hair to apply to the parts, that can definitely help!

The Youth Revitalizing Shampoo in the Chronologiste collection is to die for as well. It’s so luxurious feeling. It lathers up beautifully while cleansing my hair without making it feel dry or stripped of its oils. It adds so much shine and softness to my hair. And the mask is no exception to the outstanding quality of this line either, I always am a huge fan of the Kérastase masks because they are so darn moisturizing. This mask is Kérastase’s most luxurious mask with the greatest concentration of active ingredients. At $72 (CAD), this might cost a pretty penny that makes my bank account cry, but my hair has never felt softer or healthier after I use this mask. So if you feel like treating yourself, I’d say it’s worth it for sure.

The last product in this line is the beautiful Fragrance Oil. I have been obsessed with using hair fragrances lately to compliment my perfumes, so the combination of this oil and fragrance is definitely something I needed in my life. The scent is a mix of Tea Roe, Light Woods and Myrrh for a musky yet subtle fragrance. One to two drops of this oil adds instant softness and shine to the hair and completes the luxurious feeling as the last step of this Chronologiste line!\
