  • A Break From Life

I went away to Canmore for a few days during my week long break from university and boy oh boy, it was the break I needed. School has really been stressing me out this year and it definitely didn’t help that my accounting prof thought it would be a good idea to make my midterm the day after Reading Week ends. So guess what I’m doing right now? Cramming for accounting allllll weekend. But at least I got a mini break from life for a couple of days in Canmore. It definitely helped to keep me sane.

This is the outfit I have been wearing all winter long ever since the snow started hitting the ground. My cream suede and sherpa jacket from Zara has definitely become a favorite coat in my closet ever since I picked it up a couple years ago. You would think it would be hard to pair a light coloured jacket with other items in winter but it surprisingly matches the majority of the sweaters I wear in the colder months. Plus it’s super warm and cozy because let’s be honest, that’s really all I care about once the temperature drops below zero.

Underneath the jacket, I paired a knit mustard sweater from H&M. I am still on the hunt for more mustard pieces because currently, I only own two items in that beautiful yellow shade. (If you have any suggestions on cute mustard pieces that you have seen, let me know ASAP, much appreciated). I thought both the mustard sweater and the cream jacket paired perfectly with my Sorels. I have never been more grateful for a pair of boots this Winter. I’ve been freezing every single days and my feet are the first things to get cold on my body. My Uggs just weren’t cutting it anymore. But these Sorels keep my toes toasty warm. Plus, I’ve really grown to like the look of them.

I know that dressing warm in the winter can be so hard while still trying to look cute. There will be days (like today as I’m writing this) that I will wear a flannel, leggings, parka, scarf and Uggs because I’m far too cold to even consider wearing an outfit that looks more put together. But I hope that by giving you cute options like these Sorels and pompom beanie will help you dress for this weather and achieve both goals of being warm and cozy and looking semi-stylin’ at the same time. But then again, if you want to bundle up in a million hoodies and sweatpants to stay warm, I don’t blame (or judge) you one bit. You do you, boo.
