  • Farmacy Honey Harvest Kit

My skin has been in the need (desperately) for some new skincare changes ever since the weather started getting colder and drier here in Alberta. I’ve heard so many good things about the Farmacy brand and I love that they’re all about naturally derived ingredients that are farmer cultivated and scientist activated. This Honey Harvest Set includes three different products that all contain the Echinacea GreenEnvy™ Honey. This honey is a humectant, meaning it retains water so it’s super hydrating for your skin. It’s also full of potent natural antioxidants and is combined with the Echinacea Purpurea GreenEnvy™ that contains another natural antioxidant called phytochemical Cichoric Acid. (That was a lot of big words y’all, I’m a scientist I guess). I was super excited to try these products because I’ve heard rumours (aka from my mom) that Echinacea can also help with acne because it eliminates infections and reduces swelling and inflammation so I was all about this set!

The first item in the set is the Honey Drop Moisturizer. It’s like this moisturizer was specially made for my skin. It’s super lightweight but it also hydrates and moisturizes incredibly well. My skin is very picky in the fact that it needs a heavy moisturizer but it hates anything too rich, thus I need a lightweight product that is able to supply a good amount of hydration. This moisturizer isn’t too heavy on the skin at all, but it has the Echinacea GreenEnvy™ Honey, Triple Hyaluronic Acid Complex (y’all know how much I love hyaluronic acid) and these really cool Cupuaçu Butter Beads that supply that extra dose of moisture. The onlycomplaint I have (and this is just because I’m incredibly picky about scents) is that it smells very strongly of honey and I unfortunately hatethe scent of honey.

The next product, the Honey Potion Mask, is definitely my favorite item of the set. This mask is incredibly cool and unique. It’s a renewing antioxidant hydration mask that nourishes and revitalizes the skin for a glowing, smooth complexion. It contains the honey (of course), propolis (which is found in beehives) and royal jelly (full of amino acids) to moisturize and firm the skin. But the cool part off this mask is that it actually warms upwhen you apply it to the skin. It starts out as a sticky honey-like texture, but when you begin to massage it into the skin, it starts warming up and turns into a white creamy texture. This is such a fun mask to use on a cold Winter day when you’re freezing because it’s like sitting in front of a warm fire, except the fire is on your face. (But not actually, you know what I mean. It’s a very comfortable warming sensation).

The last item is the Sleep Tight Firming Night Balm. This one is also a very cool product! It starts off as a balm that is hard to scoop out of the container and then turns into a super lightweight oil-gel. It has a very watery texture that is also very oily (in a good way). However, my skin has never really been able to handle an abundance of oils, so I tend to only use this once or twice a week as a treatment when my skin needs that extra nourishment. If I use it more than that, I do notice some breakouts emerging.

And with the holidays coming up, this Honey Harvest set makes the perfectpresent for any skincare-obsessed friend or loved one! It’s a super universal skincare routine that can fit a variety of skin types, which makes giving this as a gift super easy!
