  • Rocky Mountain Soap Co.

As you probably know by now, Canmore is one of my favorite places on Earth (except for New York of course). I go down there every chance I can, so of course, I’m bound to like a local brand that originated there. Rocky Mountain Soap Co. has become extremely successful over the years and expanded both their product range and their locations stretching over a couple of provinces now.

I was sent some products from their natural hair care line made with 100% natural ingredients. So many companies have sent me shampoo and conditioner this year, so I think they’re all trying to tell me something: that I should wash my hair more. And honestly, they’re probably right. Put down the dry shampoo, Taylor, and jump in the shower. Fine, fine. I get the hint.

Anyways, I received the Rosemary Mint Stimulating Shampoo and the Vanilla Coconut Soothing Conditioner. I livefor the scent of these hair care products. I’m not gonna lie but sometimes Rocky Mountain Soap Co.’s scents are just a lil too strong for me. However the shampoo is extremely refreshing and makes my hair feel so damn clean. The rosemary and mint are so cooling and make my scalp tingle, I love it! I feel like I’m fully cleansing my hair and getting rid of all that dry shampoo build-up in my roots. And the conditioner is the perfect thing to use afterwards to give my hair that sweet scent I always crave. The coconut and vanilla smell amazing and although it’s a very lightweight conditioner, it seems to fully moisturize my strands. And because it is so light, it doesn’t weigh down my hair at all. I still get some nice volume at the roots!

I was also sent a bar of their soap in the scent, Floral Abyssinian. And I hate to say it but I was not a fan of this scent at all. I’m super picky with scents and anything to floral or too strong is just not gonna cut it with me. However, my brother seemed to really like it, so that’s a good sign at least! But apart from the scent, this is actually an amazing soap that is extremely hydrating (making it perfect for Albertan winters). It’s made with abyssinian oil, sourced from Prince Edward Island. The oil is packed with natural fatty acids, making it hydrating and easily absorbed by the skin, yet non-greasy. It’s similar in nature to Argan Oil, making it super effective in hydrating and protecting your skin from over-drying during cleansing!
